Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to lead lean process reviews and gap analysis within the HR Systems team. This role is responsible for evaluating existing HR processes, identifying inefficiencies, and recommending system and process improvements aligned with organizational goals. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to streamline workflows, enhance system utilization, and drive continuous improvement across HR operations.
Key responsibilities include understanding current state processes, conducting root cause analysis, identifying opportunities for automation or optimization, and supporting the implementation of enhanced solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of HR systems (e.g., Oracle HCM, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors), lean methodology, and a passion for driving operational excellence.
Major Responsibilities:

- providing technical expertise and direction to staff when required
- identifying and addressing blockers, inefficiencies and other issues to effective service delivery
- overseeing data transactions to ensure processes and practices allow for timely and accurate data entry
- participating as a member of the HR Shared Services management team in the development of branch goals and objectives in support of the divisional and corporate goals and objectives
2. Manage the effective and timely provision of HCM system maintenance, and support by:
- ensuring information systems meet the ongoing day-to-day needs and requirements of the HR business areas
- leading the team in managing data integrity of the HCM information systems to ensure consistency within related systems and applications
- reviewing and approving system change records and security access requests
- developing and coordinating the support required for HR information systems including service level agreements
3. Manage the HCM Systems roadmap, including implementations and systems upgrades, through:
- preparing business cases, plans, tasks for major system projects, such as upgrades and new installations
- developing options, recommendations and costing for the design and implementation of system upgrades and enhancements
- developing and/or approving business specifications for system functionality, enhancements, customizations, data interfaces and reports
- leading the assessment of HR system solutions to optimize use of current systems and to expand HR technology to meet the strategic needs of the organization
4. Act as a liaison between the HCM Systems group and other related areas of the organization including:
- leading and/or participating on intra- and inter-departmental project teams involving systems and data related issues
- collaborating with other areas within Human Resources and throughout the organization, such as Finance and IT, to ensure HR systems and data are aligned and integrated
- participating as a member of the Branch's management team in the development of branch goals and objectives in support of the divisional and corporate goals and objectives
5. Manage the effective planning and provision of business systems implementations/upgrades, maintenance, and support for Human Capital Management information systems which deliver HR programs and record employee related data for all current and former WSIB employees and provide technical expertise and leadership to WSIB management and staff with respect to PeopleSoft and related HCM information systems issues.

- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or information systems
Experience:

- Strong background in Human Resources applications and the ability to think with a systems "mindset"
- Experience working with PeopleSoft Human Resources modules, including configuration and queries
- Experience managing all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, user-acceptance testing, issue resolution and maintenance
- Experience gathering capabilities and aptitude for understanding business requirements and translating these into system solutions
