Introduction to role
The Associate Medical Director will support the Senior Medical Director of US Medical Affairs in strategic planning, tactical execution, and leadership activities for Alexion's Neurofibromatosis 1 and Rare Neuro-Oncology Therapeutic Area.
Activities include but are not limited to Real World Evidence generation, publications, content development, congresses, advisory boards, thought leader development and scientific exchange, launch activities, and medical education programs as well as interfacing, as appropriate with Global Medical counterpart(s).

Accountabilities
- Working with US Sr. Medical Director, Executive Director, and Regional Field Director(s) to plan and execute the annual US Medical Strategic and Tactical Plans
- Evaluating US evidence gaps and managing US publication activities to support US strategy, in alignment with Global
- Supporting logistics, contracting and other medical administrative responsibilities as designated by Sr. Medical Director, Rare Oncology
- Supporting US Real World Evidence strategy and execution
- Managing development of content and resources for scientific exchange, medical education programs, training, and congress activities aligned to US Medical strategy
- Managing congress strategy and execution
- Supporting Medical Advisory Boards and insight generation activities to inform ongoing strategic and tactical needs in evolving treatment landscape
- Collaborating with internal cross functional stakeholders, including but not limited to clinical development, commercial, and patient advocacy; as well as external stakeholder engagement, including building and maintaining KOL relationships
- Demonstrating effective team communication and collaboration, documentation of Medical Affairs activities through appropriate reporting systems, execution through appropriate processes, and budget and vendor management
Essential Skills/Experience
- PharmD, MD, DO or PhD
- 4+ years of Industry experience with 2+ years in Medical Affairs preferred
- Demonstrated ability to medically lead and support successful cross-functional teams in a competitive landscape
- Established ability to liaise with KOLs and HCPs to innovate and challenge the status quo, while implementing Medical Affairs tools to improve patient care and outcomes
- Proven critical thinking capabilities, analytical skills, proactive approach, and ability to develop effective medical strategy
- Excellent written and verbal communication and strong presentation skills
- Adaptability and agility in a dynamic environment with proven ability to work on teams and independently
- The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
