Purpose:
Jesuit education, also known as Ignatian education, is an approach to education inspired by the teachings and principles of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), a Catholic religious order. Jesuit education is known for its emphasis on intellectual rigor, moral and ethical development, and the holistic formation of individuals. Jesuit education is not limited to Catholic students, and our own and many more Jesuit institutions welcome students of various religious backgrounds. The principles of Jesuit education have been influential in the development of a well-rounded, values-based approach to education that extends beyond the classroom and into the broader community.
Seattle Prep is hiring a Community Minister for the 2025-2026 school year. This position helps promote Prep's mission as a Catholic, Jesuit school by overseeing programs that provide spiritual formation and leadership opportunities for students.
The ideal candidate will have teaching and ministry experience as well as a passion for working with students in both areas. Experience teaching at the high school level preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $65,700 - $118,560 annually. Salary is determined based on skills and qualifications.
Our outstanding benefits package includes an allowance of $19,800 annually (pro-rated for part-time employment) that may be applied to benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and flexible spending account. Employees who do not elect insurance may choose to receive the benefits allowance as supplemental pay. Our 403b program includes up to a 7.5% employer contribution when employee match considerations are met. Tuition remission, generous time off, sick leave, and a school sponsored medical leave program are also significant parts of our benefits package. For teachers in the first 5 years of their careers, we offer the opportunity to apply for affordable, innovative housing options, based on availability.

Essential Functions:
- Vision, plan, and coordinate all grade-level retreats
- Aid in all liturgical events such as Masses and prayer services
- Train and support student and adult liturgical ministers
- Attend to the spiritual well-being of students, including providing pastoral care for the community, being present for students during the school day, and collaborating with other department to serve our students
- Engage in teaching and supervision duties
- Teach a Theology course, or serve another classroom need
- Be available and wiling to work some flexible hours, including some nights and weekends
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of two years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to Prep's mission and values, especially as it relates to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Supportive of the mission of a Catholic, Jesuit high school and formation of the whole person
- Practicing Catholic
- Experience in ministry program implementation, execution, and evaluation
- Expertise with a variety of teaching methodologies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth

- Master's Degree in Divinity, Religious or Pastoral Studies, or similar area of study
