We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead and oversee the development, design, and implementation of automotive stamping processes, dies and new equipment installations. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams, drive process/equipment improvements, and ensure the timely delivery of stamping programs in alignment with program requirements and production schedules. This position requires deep technical knowledge of automotive stamping processes, dies, equipment and operating systems. In addition, the incumbent should have strong leadership abilities as well as the ability to navigate complex project challenges. Position will report to Director of Stamping.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Staff Technical Program Manager to lead and oversee the development, design, and implementation of automotive stamping processes, dies and new equipment installations. The successful candidate will manage cross-functional teams, drive process/equipment improvements, and ensure the timely delivery of stamping programs in alignment with program requirements and production schedules. You Will:
Program Leadership & Management:
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of automotive stamping projects from concept to production, ensuring all technical and business objectives are met
- Develop and execute program plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management supporting new model die programs and new equipment installations
- Manage the communication and coordination between internal stamping teams (engineering, quality, manufacturing, etc.), external suppliers and internal customers
- Ensure that all programs are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget
Technical Expertise & Problem Solving:
- Apply deep knowledge of automotive stamping processes, including die design, material simulation/selection, tooling, press equipment installations and automation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to die engineers, manufacturing engineers and managers
- Solve complex engineering challenges related to stamping processes, equipment, tooling, and production capabilities
- Collaborate with design teams to optimize the manufacturability of stamped parts
- Die modification strategy and schedule for design change implementation
- Familiarity with tooling cost and timing, driving suppliers for on time deliverable
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with product design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure program success
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, vendors, and internal customers
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure that stamping processes meet all relevant industry standards and customer specifications
- Lead efforts to continuously improve product quality, reducing defects and improving yield
- Ensure that all stamping operations are compliant with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
Risk Management & Continuous Improvement:
- Proactively identify program risks and develop mitigation strategies
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to stamping processes, tooling, and overall program execution
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and methodologies in automotive stamping
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and deliver regular program updates to senior management, highlighting milestones, risks, and performance metrics
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of die design specifications, die standards, program plans, and progress reports presented out on a regular basis
- Manage change control processes and ensure proper documentation is in place for any design or process changes
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, Tool & Die Apprenticeship, Advanced Engineering degree preferred
- Minimum 12+ years of experience in automotive stamping, program management and Die Engineering
- Proven experience managing large-scale, complex automotive programs, with at least 12 years in a senior program management role
- Expertise in stamping die design & build or new stamping equipment installation and manufacturing technologies
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and build strong stakeholder relationships
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to define and track project metrics, timelines, and budgets
- Ability to analyze technical problems and develop innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in CAD software, PLM tools, and Microsoft Project or similar project management tools
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, lean manufacturing, and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced die engineering experience through project life cycle, laser blanking, servo presses, prog, tandem, transfer, hot stamping, Greenfield equipment installations.
- Familiarity with high-volume automotive production environments and JIT (Just-In-Time) principles
- PMP certification or other relevant project management qualifications
