The HR Generalist and Payroll Specialist role is a versatile position that involves managing various aspects of human resources within the company. Handles a wide range of HR functions including processing payrolls, and other duties but not limited to are supporting employee relations, performance management, training, HR policy implementation, employee data reporting and recruiting .

The pay range for this position of HR Generalist/Payroll Specialist is $70,613-105,920. However, base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus as part of total compensation.

Position Summary:
The HR Generalist and Payroll Specialist role is a versatile position that involves managing various aspects of human resources within the company. Handles a wide range of HR functions including processing payrolls, and other duties but not limited to are supporting employee relations, performance management, training, HR policy implementation, employee data reporting and recruiting .
Essential Job Functions:
- Administration of the bi-weekly and weekly payrolls for SAI employees, including all changes for the period to Pay Rates, garnishments, deductions and taxes
- Process special check requests including, retro pay, bonuses, settlements, PTO payout at termination,
- The payroll responsibility includes filing payroll taxes, process weekly 401K files, arrange and validate garnishments, year-end reporting, W-2's, payroll accrual for the general ledger, general ledger analysis of variance, quarterly reconciliations for SUI, FUTA, etc.
- Weekly, Quarterly and Annual reconciliation of taxes to Ceridian. In addition, reconciliation of payroll information to W2 and GL on a quarterly basis.
- This position will obtain the weekly payroll files from UKG and import them into the GreenTree General Ledger system. On a monthly basis, this position will update various account analyses. In particular those related to payroll for 401K, garnishments, advances and some additional analyses as needed.
- Maintain physical and electronic files, including all earnings, deductions, tax withholdings.
- Respond to payroll related questions in a timely manner
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR related matters, such as policies, procedures and compliance
- Assist in maintaining accurate employee records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Assist as a backup for New Hire Orientations
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- 5 years of payroll experience.
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus
Knowledge/Experience
- Thorough understanding of the corporate labor and benefit policies
- Thorough understanding of federal and state tax issues as well as unemployment, head tax, social security, W-2
- Leverage Business Intelligence (BI) reporting in order to provide data in response to ad hoc requests, including internal and external audit requests
- UKG payroll experience is strongly recommended.

- Computer proficiency: UKG, Green Tree and Microsoft Office
