Location: Austin, TX 78756 | Onsite Only
Pay Rate: $62.52/hr.
Contract Duration: 05/12/2025 - 08/31/2025
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST (Excludes State Holidays)
Status: W2 or Corp-to-Corp | State Agency Project

Position Overview:

The Technical Writer 3 will play a critical role in developing, editing, and maintaining technical and end-user documentation for software applications and systems. This individual will work closely with Application Teams to translate complex technical content into clear, concise, and accessible documentation for a variety of stakeholders.

This role demands an expert-level understanding of Texas Vital Statistics laws and policies, along with strong business analysis skills and exceptional written communication.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain end-user manuals, process documentation, training materials, and technical specifications.
  • Interpret and document complex applications and procedures in a logical and easy-to-understand sequence.
  • Translate policy, procedural, and regulatory language into actionable steps.
  • Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to ensure accurate documentation of systems and processes.
  • Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and instructional content for various audiences.
  • Coordinate the integration of visuals and graphics into documentation deliverables.

Deep knowledge of Texas Vital Statistics laws, policies, procedures, and regulations

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong time management and task prioritization with ability to lead others

Ability to estimate workloads and monitor documentation timelines

Clear and diplomatic communicator both in person and over the phone

Ability to read cursive handwriting for document analysis

Work Environment:
