Job Description

Are you a passionate sales professional looking to make a significant impact in the environmental sector? Join ECO Canada and lead our commercial sales efforts to new heights! Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Sales, the successful candidate will have a passion for the environment and expertise in sales.

As a key member of the Sales team, the Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales plan to identify and engage potential clients, align our services with their needs, build strong relationships, and drive sales to close. This role operates in a fast-paced, transactional environment where you'll focus on targeting key accounts, qualifying leads, delivering compelling presentations, and managing a dynamic sales pipeline.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and market share for our commercial line of business.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Engage with qualified leads to promote ECO Canada's products and services in line with established sales plans.
  • Assist with researching target markets and identifying new sales opportunities under the direction of senior team members.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and act as a reliable point of contact for general inquiries and support.
  • Deliver introductory presentations and participate in discovery meetings to showcase ECO Canada's offerings.
  • Conduct routine outreach to existing clients, industry contacts, and prospects to share opportunities on training and workforce development programs.
  • Track and document sales activities, updating CRM systems and reporting on engagement and conversion progress.
  • Conduct preliminary research on potential employers and leads to contribute to the team's pipeline development.
  • Remain flexible to support shifting team priorities and contribute to projects as needed.
  • Represent the ECO Canada brand professionally in client interactions and at industry events.
  • Participate in special projects and team initiatives as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B or corporate sales, preferably within a consultative or solutions-based selling environment.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a successful sales team.
  • Strong understanding of the environmental sector and its market dynamics.
  • Motivated by achieving goals and contributing to team success in a performance-driven setting.
  • Comfortable tracking outcomes and noticing patterns that can improve performance.
  • Clear and professional communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Manages time effectively and meets deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism in all interactions with clients, colleagues, and partners.
  • Able to draft and refine client-facing materials such as emails, proposals, and basic reports.
  • Brings a positive attitude and stays composed while managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on follow-through and accuracy.
  • Proactive and adaptable, with a willingness to take initiative and learn through hands-on experience.
  • Team player who brings energy and a collaborative spirit to group projects and client interactions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Environmental Science, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships that contribute to achieving sales targets.
  • Experience engaging with small to mid-sized business clients to understand their needs and propose relevant solutions.
  • Comfortable speaking with and presenting to stakeholders at various levels, including decision-makers.
  • Solid computer skills with working knowledge of MS Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics or similar systems.
  • Basic understanding of lead generation and management practices.
  • Awareness of tools and resources that support sales activities, with a willingness to learn and apply new methods.
  • Willingness to travel based on business needs.


This role is a Permanent, Full-Time Position.

ECO Canada offers the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days per week at the Calgary office and the option to work remotely for the remaining 2 days).
