Reading Intervention Teacher 2025-2026

Equality Charter School is seeking a dynamic, talented Reading Intervention Teacher who is passionate about meeting the literacy needs of struggling early adolescent scholars. The middle school remedial reader comes with a unique set of challenges. We are looking for a reading teacher who knows how to build trusting relationships with struggling readers and who knows how to meet their literacy needs (trained in teaching reading). The ideal candidate is adaptive in nature, has a positive approach to hard work, and is relentless in their pursuit of seeing every child become a reader.

Required Duties

• Build trusting relationships with struggling readers
• Develop and deliver small group lessons that meet the targeted needs of scholars (some decoding, some fluency, some comprehension groups)
• Apply best practices of reading science to all instructional plans

• Oversee initial testing of all new scholars to identify struggling readers and determine their needs
• Analyze testing data to create reading groups and develop schedules
• Administer ongoing reading assessments to monitor progress of remediation efforts
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, as needed, around teaching reading and supporting students in the mainstream setting
• Communicate with parents/guardians of remedial reading scholars as needed
• Collaborate with other Reading Intervention Teachers to ensure programs support each other and align appropriately across school divisions
• Lead or co-lead literacy-focused professional development sessions, as needed

*Experience with the following programs and assessments are a plus: Acadience or Dibbles, UFLI Foundations, Ascend Smarter Intervention, EL Education

Salary & Benefits

• Bachelors only- 68k-85k
• Masters only-76k-93k
• All classroom and school-setting Reading Intervention experience will be considered
