Woodland Clinic Medical Group (WCMG) is a multi-specialty group with more than 150+ providers in the Woodland, CA area. The group has been providing exceptional care to the residents of Woodland, Davis, and the surrounding communities for more than 100 years. We are in need of an additional Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Urgent Care service. This is a full-time opportunity, with twelve, 12 hour shifts per month (including weekdays/weekends). The incoming APP would be enthusiastic, collegial and love caring for sick patients.

Woodland is the county seat of Yolo County, located in California's Central Valley. Woodland is located 20 miles northwest of Sacramento at the intersection of Interstate 5 and State Route 113. To the south is the City of Davis, a university-oriented city noted for small-town style is just 20 miles from Sacramento, and for those craving a taste of the city life you are just an hour from San Francisco. The Sacramento International Airport is eight miles to the east. Waterways include the Yolo Bypass and Sacramento River to the east, Willow Slough to the southeast, and Cache Creek to the north.

Woodland has a strong historic heritage, which is reflected in an impressive stock of historic buildings in its downtown area and surrounding neighborhoods. Woodland's agricultural setting is largely responsible for the community's distinct identity and plays an important economic role in Woodland. Due to its proximity to major transportation nodes, Woodland has also become increasingly important as a manufacturing and distribution center.

Responsibilities

Patient Assessment and Diagnosis
  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including comprehensive health histories and physical exams.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in an urgent care setting.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and other relevant procedures to support clinical decision-making.
Treatment Planning and Patient Care
  • Develop evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs and urgent concerns.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and interventions in alignment with current practice standards.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, preventive care, and health maintenance strategies.
Team Collaboration and Coordination
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Consult with specialty providers and refer patients when appropriate to ensure comprehensive treatment.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions of care across urgent care, primary care, and specialty services.
Clinic Operations & Community Engagement
  • Provide care in a high-acuity urgent care environment with enthusiasm, compassion, and efficiency.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinic growth and performance goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A valid and unrestricted license to practice in the State of California
  • Nationally recognized certification (as determined by Medicare)
  • Completion of state mandated educational courses
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior clinical experience
  • Bilingual
Pay Range
$67.60 - $82.00 /hour
