JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Portfolio Optimization will help drive the strategic management of BKV's oil and gas portfolio, identifying acquisition/divestiture opportunities and optimizing asset performance to deliver long-term value. This role leads and supports cross-functional teams, leverages data-driven insights, and aligns portfolio strategies with corporate goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical job responsibilities of the Director of Portfolio Optimization include:

Portfolio Strategy & Optimization:
  • Develop benchmarks and key performance metrics to measure and track underperforming projects, identify opportunities to rebalance and objectively evaluate overall portfolio health.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of portfolio components, including financial performance, sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, operational efficiency, and strategic fit to identify opportunities to enhance portfolio performance, reduce risks, and allocate resources effectively, including divestment opportunities if needed.
  • Collaborate with team to monitor market trends, competitive landscapes, and internal performance metrics to inform portfolio decisions.
  • Develop and execute strategies to optimize the organization's portfolio, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives.

Leadership & Reporting
  • Develop reporting dashboards to provide transparency to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Report annual portfolio performance to senior leadership and present actionable recommendations to optimize portfolio value based on evaluation findings.
  • Develop governance frameworks and best-practices processes to ensure consistent portfolio management practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, Strategy) to align portfolio priorities.
  • Lead and work with BKV's Strategic Realization Office (SRO) to ensure smooth adoption of optimization strategies across teams and business units.

Due Diligence & Integration:
  • Oversee due diligence efforts to assess risks and opportunities of potential acquisitions and divestments, providing critical insights to support decision-making
  • Work with relevant parties to integrate large acquisitions into the enterprise, ensuring seamless transitions and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Help develop sales pitches and implement strategies for divesting non-core or underperforming assets ensuring maximum value realization.


REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Strong understanding and technical knowledge of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements; a plus if candidate has previous engineering experience.
  • Advanced experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and performance evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Advanced project and portfolio management skills.
  • Leadership skills including expert ability to work cross-functionally, develop others and influence the organization to achieve results.
  • Expert in Microsoft Office and job-related applications. Uses understanding of digital concepts to create digital tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, or related field. Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in portfolio management, corporate development, or oil/gas asset optimization, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is located in Denver, CO at BKV Headquarters. Remote work will be considered.
  • Some travel, up to 20% may be required.
  • Hybrid of indoor and outdoor working environments, depending on assignment.
  • Requires ability to perform repetitive motions, operate standard office equipment.
  • May occasionally be exposed to distracting noise level while sharing office space with others.


SALARY RANGE
$161,000 - $255,000
Target Incentive 30%
