Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Proposal/Technical Writer to provide writing and editing support for technical and management documents as well as proposals for enterprise IT, systems engineering, program management, and strategic communications contracts within the Federal government. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities
Qualifications
5+ years experience in technical writing and editing including experience supporting proposals for Federal government contracts. Bachelor's degree in a related field.Experience developing various proposal volumes including management, transition, technical, staffing, resumes, and past performance. Knowledge of the federal procurement process. Excellent writing skills and strong command of the English language, including grammar. Experience interfacing with people at all levels of an organization to obtain or provide facts and information. Strong attention to detail. Able to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgrounds. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently or collaboratively with a team. Experience using advanced formatting techniques and developing document templates. Able to develop documentation that can be easily understood by a wide range of readers. Able to match writing styles depending on the audience demands. Experience ensuring document contents follow required formats and are wording is consistent across multiple documents. Must be proactive, creative, and customer and results-oriented. Must be highly organized and possess strong communication skills. Experience in MS Office software, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint. Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the proposal team to develop storyboards, outlines, roadmaps, graphics, and written proposal sections.
- Prepare compliant proposal volumes (technical, management, transition, past performance, resumes, etc.).
- Serve as the primary writer, editor, and strategist for technical content of proposals and other responses.
- Participate in and document solutioning sessions.
- Write clear, persuasive, compliant, and compelling proposal text and ensure information is presented in a manner easily understood by a technical and nontechnical audience.
- Conceptualize graphics to communicate disparate management and technical information in a concise manner.
- Research, organize, write, edit, and contribute to sections for major proposals, white papers, Sources Sought Notices (SSNs), and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Identify trends in emerging technologies and market segments, and incorporate these trends into outreach and writing of proposals and collateral materials.
- Attend meetings, conduct research using various online sources, and review other materials to support the development of proposal artifacts.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents in the areas of systems and network engineering and operations, testing, and cyber security in support of existing projects as needed.
