The Senior Maintenace Planning Supervisor is an integral member of a world class maintenance team, ensuring best practices are utilized in maintenance planning, scheduling, purchasing, contractor management, and computerized system configuration and utilization. The Senior Maintenace Planning Supervisor leads a team and works cross-functionally with maintenance leadership, technicians, and business stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain best-practice procedures for maintenance planning, sourcing, and scheduling, as well as Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) management and contractor management.
  • Assume a lead role in the integration and deployment of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) with responsibilities including improving asset hierarchy, developing key reporting and scorecards, and working with vendor(s) to ensure an effective implementation.
  • Ensure consistent parts availability prior to scheduling work. Oversee the work order (WO) process for corrective and project work. Coordinate with the maintenance leadership on labor availability.
  • Collaborate with maintenance team, engineering, and leadership to ensure Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks are aligned with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) recommendations, root cause analysis (RCA) findings, and regulatory requirements to drive equipment reliability and capability.
  • Track PM findings and corrective WOs resulting from PMs. Maintain scorecard for PM completion and effectiveness (failure after PM completion, PM findings, etc.).
  • Develop PM task duration to aid in time requirements for scheduling line time and resources. Observe and document related tasks.
  • Work with production planners and management teams to gain alignment for asset availability for maintenance tasks.
  • Play a key role in developing MRO processes and roles. Develop parts kitting strategies for PMs, WOs, and planned outages and shutdowns.
  • Develop and manage the cycle count program and establish MRO scorecard (inventory variance/shrinkage, fill rate, cost improvement, inventory valuation).
  • Monitor and track contractors' compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental (HSE), quality, and finance procedures.
  • Implement and ensure best practices for purchase order (PO) generation and management, including item receiving protocols. Resolves blocked invoices by working with vendors and the accounts payable (AP) team.

The position carries out People Leader Responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:
  • Provide task direction to team members.
  • Create and monitor team schedules.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned areas (planning, scheduling, sourcing, labor allocation).
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines while providing feedback on those tasks.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage individual performance.
  • Ensure safety and quality standards are enforced and met.
  • Update processes and procedures.


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience in industrial maintenance or commensurate combination of higher education and work experience.
  • Previous experience in roles that include maintenance planning, scheduling, purchasing, MRO management, contractor management, and/or CMMS development.
  • 5 years' experience developing and working within systematic, preventative maintenance programs.
  • 5 years of SAP or related process knowledge with the ability to ensure CMMS integration provides correct data pass-through between interfaces.
  • 2 years' supervisory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Strong root cause analysis, multi-tasking skills, time management, communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of equipment, material and tools used in the food Industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of department functions and processes. Understanding of departmental budgeting and cost centers to ensure items are coded appropriately.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory codes, standards, and requirements.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency including Outlook. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Must be able to demonstrate practical problem solving and trouble shooting skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Advanced understanding and experience developing workflows, standard work, preventative maintenance procedures, and training.
  • Experience with SAP inventory, work order management, Microsoft application, and purchasing.
  • Experience in inventory and MRO management.
  • Contractor management experience.
  • Experience in program management of TPM, Lean, 5S, RCA, and PdM.
