Position Overview:

We have a current opportunity for a Quality Task Administrator and Back-up Inspector located at our facility in Goleta, CA. In this role you will be coordinating and operating several key quality management system areas and, as a back-up inspector, performing in-process inspections and receiving inspections of aerospace parts.

Key Responsibilities:

As Quality Task Administrator:
  • Responsible for the coordination, supervision, and operation of specific quality management system tasks and functions.
  • Ensures various training, education, auditing, calibration, supplier quality assurance, continuous improvement, and other similar and related activities are carried out in accordance with quality management system.
  • Responsible for day-to-day coordination and administration of tasks by ensuring quality and productivity standards are maintained while meeting required schedules.
  • Coordinates with other contract and subcontract personnel to ensure work moves smoothly from one functional area to another.
  • Provides written quality management system management plans, instructions, task status analysis, cost reports, and other related documents.
  • Ensures all administrative tools are effectively used to control and accomplish tasks.
  • Assists with writing procedures and other documentation.
  • Responsible for status and task management reports for areas of responsibility.

As a Back-up Inspector:
  • Performs receiving inspection of purchased parts and subassemblies. Verifies supplier compliance with all purchase order requirements, specifications and/or drawing requirements.
  • Performs dimensional inspections using hand-held instruments to measure parts and assemblies to drawing requirement.
  • Performs in-process inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements, verifies accuracy of entries on data sheets, work orders, adhesive mixes, and other data-keeping systems.
  • Performs finals inspections of assembled hardware per drawing requirements and is the liaison to the program Quality Engineer (Reports quality problems or findings to the QE). Assists Quality Engineering and Operations in the investigation of non-conformities.
  • Accurately documents the results of the inspections.
  • Performs quality review of work orders prior to their closure to verify count and condition of parts or assemblies, that all operations are complete, that associated kit lists are accurate, that parts are correctly labeled; and assists the Quality Engineer (as needed) to collect data for the assemblies End Item Data Package.
  • Performs source inspections at sub-tier suppliers, as needed.

Ideal Experience:
  • High school diploma is required.
  • General knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and methods.
  • 5+ years working experience with manufacturing and/or quality.
  • 4+ years working experience with quality management systems, e.g. AS9100 / ISO9001 requirements. Esp. training, education, auditing, supplier quality assurance, continuous improvement, and calibration.
  • 3+ years of work experience with quality inspection, preferably in a high reliability, small batch, high variety manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with training and education in quality management systems, quality control, and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with conducting quality management system audits.
  • Experience with supplier quality assurance.
  • Experience with continuous improvement.
  • Experience with calibration processes and methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in using Windows computers, Microsoft Office apps, and quality management software and tools. US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations
  • Strong problem-solving skills.

Desired Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience aerospace technology, products, and processes.
  • Quality management system certifications.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $95,000 per year

How We Determine What We Pay (compensation philosophy)
Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will be considered for higher pay.
