Under the general direction of the Technical Support Bureau (TSB) Director, the incumbent provides direction to a staff of multi-disciplinary information technology managers, supervisors, and technical staff. The incumbent independently plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Production & Network Services Branch, within the TSB. This bureau operates in a 24/7 environment to ensure all systems are available to the Department of Justice (DOJ) law enforcement community and DOJ personnel. The incumbent will provide guidance directly, or through subordinate managers and supervisors, to technical specialists and provide overall management of staff to architect, deploy, and maintain the DOJ Wide Area Network and Local Area Network (WAN/LAN) environment, server environment, create, deploy, and execute the processes to support applications execution, and monitor results for success and remediation if unsuccessful.

The incumbent manages the Network Production Services Section and the Production & Implementation Support Services Section within the TSB. The Network Production Services Section consists of the WAN/LAN unit, which provides network design, implementation, security and support for the DOJ and law enforcement clients throughout the State. The Production & Implementation Support Services Section consist of Production Support, Computer Operations, and Open Systems Units. These units coordinate to ensure systems are operating optimally 24/7, including DOJ automated processes.

Working Conditions
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.

This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
