Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Service Center Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of our vehicle and equipment repair facility. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented leader with a strong technical background and exceptional organizational skills. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of service center operations, including vehicle and equipment repairs, parts inventory, technician scheduling, fleet utilization optimization, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
  • Service Operations Management:
    • Oversee and manage all vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance activities.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service center environment.
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Develop and manage technician schedules to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage and maintain accurate parts inventory levels.
    • Order and receive parts and supplies in a timely manner.
    • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures.
    • Negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing.
  • Fleet Utilization Optimization:
    • Develop and implement strategies to optimize fleet utilization and minimize downtime.
    • Track fleet utilization data and generate reports.
    • Identify and address inefficiencies in fleet operations.
    • Work with Operations Management to ensure vehicles are available when needed.
  • Scheduling and Dispatching:
    • Prioritize work orders based on urgency and operational need.
    • Maintain accurate records of work performed.
    • Communicate with internal customers regarding scheduling and repair status.
  • Quality Control and Customer Service:
    • Ensure all repairs are completed to a high standard of quality.
    • Address operations management concerns and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Maintain a high level of internal customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Management:
    • Monitor and control service center expenses.
    • Generate and analyze reports on service center performance.
    • Develop and manage the service center budget.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance, and inventory.
    • Generate regular reports on service center performance and fleet utilization.
    • Utilize work order management software to track and manage operations.

Job Qualifications and Skills:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, operations management, or a related field (Required).
  • Proven experience in managing a vehicle or equipment repair service center.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and control.
  • Experience with fleet management and optimization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in service management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • ASE Certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen required as a condition of employment


Qualifications

Pay:
  • $115,000 - $145,000 dependent on experience
