VP of Brewing and Quality
Job Summary: This position is responsible for leadership, direction, improvement and oversight of the Quality of our Products and the production brewing process within the Supply Chain Team. This position is responsible for strategic thinking, financial performance, and Key Performance Indicators in the area of Brewing and Quality. They are a member of the Supply Chain leadership team and participate as an active member in strategic planning, one to five year planning, and other responsibilities related to being a member of this team.

Starting Salary Range: $160,000.00-$220,000.00

Essential Duties:
- Leads the strategic development of the one-to-five-year plans for both the Brewing and Quality teams while providing input and expertise into the overall Supply Chain one-to-five-year strategy.
- Leads the members of the Brewing and Quality teams from their direct reports through the front-line team members. They must be present, interact and lead all members of the team throughout the network of breweries and distribution centers.
- Mentor and support all members of the New Belgium team on all Quality communications, resolutions, or concerns.
- Identifies & prioritizes production process improvement and efficiency opportunities, driving development and implementation of plan to achieve objectives.
- Oversees optimization of existing recipes, directing team on testing, analysis, process, problems, etc; ensure that product development activities align with the goals of the organization
- Leads the brewing and quality assurance team on safety and quality analysis, ensuring clear responsibilities and accountability.
- Leads the team that directs and oversees raw material and vendors; assesses cost, evaluates quality of ingredients, and manages relationships; makes recommendations on the potential and practicality of products in development
- Manages budget and team expenditures; recommends and approves purchasing decisions including equipment, materials, etc.
- Lead, coach and mentor staff including performance reviews and personal development; oversee all personnel management issues (hiring, training, corrective action, problem resolution)
- Works collaboratively with other departments within New Belgium to support process improvements and project work.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of personnel within the organization, including presenting information and responding to questions from various individuals and groups or managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Lead major project and/or focused improvement efforts
- Assign personnel to various projects and prioritize the allocation of resources
- Prepare, monitor and adjust operational budgets
- Prioritize and justify capital expenditure requests
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Education/ Experience/Skills:
- Excellent leadership and proven ability to lead and motivate team members throughout a large organization
- Proven decision making and analytical skills along with strong financial acumen
- Bachelor's or greater in a Science or Engineering field, and 10+ years of related work experience
- 5+ years' experience in a production brewery
- Developed and proven knowledge of brewing including raw materials, supplies and industry
- Comprehensive understanding of the brewing process and extensive knowledge in beer production
