Test Engineer

The Audience & Multiple Platform Technologies (AMPT) group is looking for a Test Engineer to work on mobile & web based products. As a member of the Software Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for ensuring that deployed products meet specific quality standards. To be considered for this position, each candidate must have a development and/or scripting background.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Develop test strategies, test plans, and test cases for web site verification.
  • Develop test framework for iterative and incremental software development efforts.
  • Document test results and provide test progress/reports that will be used in assessing the completeness of the development effort.
  • Work closely with the development and product teams to ensure all relevant and agreed upon aspects of the application are tested.
  • Provide scope, resource and time estimates for projects presented for testing and analysis.
  • Identify and manage issues/defects for each development project.


Required Skills:
  • Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: JavaScript, Java, Python, PHP, Perl, VBScript or similar languages
  • Experience creating an automated test framework to verify web services (REST).
  • Experience working in an agile or rapid development environment.
  • Deep knowledge of internet technologies and protocols, i.e. HTTP, XML, web services
  • Experience in building test frameworks, tools, and automation within a large scale enterprise environment
  • Experience running commands and reviewing output, logs, etc. from the UNIX shell.
  • Demonstrated success in using tools such as JIRA, Client Quality Center or similar defect tracking tools.
  • Experience using tools and/or browser add-ons to verify CSS and JavaScript code.


Desired Skills:
  • Strong experience working with Client Quick Test Pro (QTP), JMeter, Selenium, SOAPUI or other automated tools.
  • Experience with RIA technologies: Flash, Adobe Flex & Air
  • Experience working with Use Cases
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
