Job Title: Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Specialty: Therapy - Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Duration: 42 weeks

Shift: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch; 30-minute administrative time, 4:30-5:00 PM)

Guaranteed Hours: Not specified

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, relevant experience in Speech-Language Pathology, especially in school and pediatric settings

License: Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited school

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Must-Have:
- Ability to perform assessments and treatments for patients with communicative or swallowing disorders
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to speech and hearing
- Skill in applying assessment instruments and operating specialized therapy equipment
- Competency in using Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records systems

Job Description:

- Perform assessments to determine the needs, plan, and evaluate treatment programs for patients with possible speech, language, cognitive, or swallowing difficulties.
- Assess communication skills such as articulation, fluency, voice, and language to identify disorders, determine eligibility, and develop recommendations.
- Document medical records including observations, evaluation results, and response to treatment.
- Develop tailored treatment plans and interventions to minimize the impact of communication disorders.
- Conduct speech-language pathology treatments and instruct patients and family members on proper care and exercises.
- Evaluate and report on patients' progress throughout the therapy program.
- Provide education to patients and staff to ensure understanding of conditions and treatment plans, and develop educational materials as needed.
- Communicate scheduling needs and participate in staff meetings for departmental goal-setting and problem-solving.
- Assist with program development and engage with community groups as indicated.
- Contribute to writing the Policy and Procedure Manual, Department Quality Program, and other documentation as needed.
- Ensure equipment, materials, and supplies are properly maintained.
- Adapt to changing work priorities and maintain effective working relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This role involves working between clinical settings and schools, providing services to pre-K through high school students across various classrooms. External resources like transportation and housing may be available upon request.
