Summary

The Director of Operations - Quality is a key member of the Executive Team responsible to implement and drive the Business Management System and processes at all Company locations. This role sets the Quality vision and strategy and promotes a culture of continuous improvement, while working closely with Operations. This position develops goals and metrics to support of company strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and provide direction to the Quality teams at all locations [Wallingford, CT; Mesa, AZ; West Palm Beach, FL; Bangalore, India; Shanghai, China]
Drive a "root-cause" company culture with respect to problem solving
Establishes objectives, performance goals and metrics that support Company goals and strategies.
Understand customer requirements and recommend changes to processes, tools and technology to meet these needs.
Coach and direct the team to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers, driving improved customer service.
Provide resources and recommendations for new product launches and new equipment.
Adept at interfacing and working with Customers on quality-related matters
Establish and administer internal audits
Ensure Team preparation and lead customer and 3rd Party Audits at all US locations
Develop, implement, and maintains documents and procedures in compliance with industry standards.
Facilitate training systems to ensure proper workforce development.
Lead system/process improvements in: Engineering, Programs, Customer Service Purchasing, and Operations
Improve the phase/gate process of product implementation and maturity.
Provide direction for continuous improvement and Lean Initiative projects.
Implement Supplier qualification, monitoring and improvement programs
Develop and build the Quality team by effective recruiting, coaching and training of team members
Participate in Contract Review to help ensure Company compliance to requirements
Lead and drive organization in Operational Excellence for all sites.

Qualifications/Requirements
BS in Engineering or similar technical discipline
Minimum 8-years of experience in an Operations or Quality management role
Demonstrated successful leadership and skill in change management relative to a manufacturing organization
Working knowledge of AS 9100, OHSAS 18001 and IPC product quality standards
Practical experience implementing LEAN methods and tools
Deep understanding of quality improvement tools and statistical decision-making methods
Excellent organizational, project management and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact well and coach team members
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time
