We are looking for a Solutions Architect with a focus on Systems Engineering to ideate, design, and integrate cutting-edge systems that address the evolving challenges of our customers in the Department of Defense and across the national security enterprise. This position will focus on the design of integrated architectures and systems to include command, control and communications (C3), mission planning, and battle management systems. Your primary job function will be as an engineering subject matter expert who can help pursue, win, and support business development and product development initiatives. You will interface with customers and company leadership to understand technical requirements, determine possible solutions, and articulate and advocate for those solutions.
To be successful in this role you should be inquisitive and self-motivated. You should have extensive experience in the design and implementation of complex systems. You should have or be able to obtain a security clearance for work for the U.S. Government, and ideally have domain expertise with advanced defense command, control and communications systems.

As a Solutions Architect focused on Systems Engineering for our capture team, you will be the tip of the spear solutions provider working to solve many complex and persistent challenges:
Core Responsibilities
- Translate customer requirements and a broad strategic vision into clear and possible new systems and integrated technological solutions
- Design and develop new systems and/or integrate existing systems that account for the system's design and technology maturity constraints
- Develop winning solutions that are highly innovative and that combine modern systems design and leading-edge capabilities, with activities focused on early stage Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs)
- Participate in developing technical solutions and writing in support of proposal development and the capture process to include white papers, RFI and RFP responses
- Participate in internal and customer development and design review sessions
- Investigate, conduct research, and prepare case studies on emerging technologies and their application to defense missions
- Engage customer and industry technical leaders to understand technical trends
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency technologies, industry trends, analytical methods, and engineering best practices
- Support and leverage TIL's deep bench of engineering and product development professionals to deliver more effective, efficient, scalable, and attractive solutions
- Prepare or review technical documentation and guidelines for systems development
- Critique solutions to identify strengths, weaknesses, and roadmaps to change or improvement
Requirements
- A technical bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of prior relevant experience (with Master's degree) or 15+ years of prior relevant experience (with Bachelor's degree)
- Demonstrated ability to move a strategic vision into a clear and actionable architecture and to develop and mature a strategy with business impact and success in fulfilling customer objectives
- Experience developing systems engineering artifacts (e.g. documents, models, diagrams, and other deliverables) created throughout the systems engineering process to capture requirements, design, analysis, and verification activities
- In-depth understanding of current and emerging Command, Control and Communications, Data Transport protocols, Mission Planning, and/or Battle Management systems
- Knowledge of common systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g. agile, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), architecture frameworks).
- Ability to form industry relationships and partnerships
- Strong communication skills and experience engaging in business development and capture efforts in the role of Solutions Architect or similar
- Experience in creating white papers, proposals, and briefings demonstrating thought leadership, as well as supporting marketing and business development efforts
- Experience with emerging technologies such as AI/ML, edge computing, and advanced analytics
- Executive-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with customers and internal teams
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience supporting DoD or intelligence community organizations, preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20% based on company and customer needs
- This is a hybrid position and currently requires three days in office (Tuesday to Thursday) at one of our facilities in Tampa FL, Nashville TN or McLean VA
Clearance Requirements
- Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and willing and eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance at the Secret or Top-Secret level. Existing clearance is preferred.
