Measures of success: Completeness and accuracy of underlying accounting entries and reconciliations, quality of commentary to aid decision making, and delivery within assigned timeframes.

Let's break down the day-to-day a little further:
Accounting & Reporting (50%)
Measures of success: Completeness and accuracy of underlying accounting entries and reconciliations, quality of commentary to aid decision making, and delivery within assigned timeframes.
Accounting
- Owns the month end close process including uploading monthly results to our parent financial system
- Responsible for completeness and accuracy of monthly results within assigned timeframes
- Reviews month end workbooks to ensure all entries are posted and accounts reconciled
- Analyzes impact of business changes and decisions and recommends accounting policies and procedures to account for these changes
- Reviews and approves journal entries performed by the Accountant and Accounting Coordinators for completeness and accuracy
- Prepares journal entries for more complex accounting
- Prepares reconciliations between IFRS local books and US GAAP for the parent company
Reporting & Analysis
- Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial results including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflows
- Identifies and investigates variances to budget and re-forecast
- Provides commentary on variances and results
Year-end audit
- Owns the co-ordination of the audit process through the parent company including financial audit, and Canadian and US tax returns
- Supports the preparation and co-ordination of foreign entity tax returns and compliance (UK, New Zealand, Australia India)
- Supports the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP
Financial Operations (30%)
Measures of success: Level of improvement of the assigned financial processes, and accuracy and reliability of data
- Assists the Director in managing all day-to- day full cycle accounting functions and operational processes including cash management, A/R, A/P, payroll, billing, employee expenses etc.
- Prepares worldwide payrolls on a semi-monthly and/or monthly basis as needed
- Performs review of commission calculations generated by Xactly and adjusts as needed
- Reviews sales tax returns in both Canada and the US on a monthly, and quarterly basis and adjusts as needed
- Performs US state sales tax reviews to ensure filing compliance and co-ordinates additional state registrations as needed
- Proactively initiates special projects, research, and analysis to continuously improve and advance the financial operations functions for the business
Team Oversight (10%)
Measures of success: Accuracy and reliability of data, level of improvement of the assigned financial processes, and delivery within assigned timeframes.
- Leads the Accountants , Accounting co-ordinators, and AR Specialists who are responsible for assisting with the overall operations of Resolver's financial processes including but not limited to vendor management, accounts payable, employee expenses, collections and general accounting.
- Supports the general accounting process by providing guidance on journal entries, reconciliations, and tasks as needed
Team Building and Development (10%)Measures of success: Regular one-on-one meetings and completion of individual coaching and performance plans.
- Enable the team to maximize their impact by providing oversight, support, and guidance, through coordinating best use of resources, reviewing projects and potential risks, as well as resolving bottlenecks.
- Mentor and coach the team in the achievement of KRs and personal performance objectives.
- Provide regular one-on-one feedback with the goal of improving performance while proactively seeking opportunities to celebrate wins within the team.
Qualifications and Education
- Accounting designation is required (CPA, CA)
- Experience as a Finance Manager or Team Leader in Finance is required
- Excel skills (modelling, V-lookup, pivot tables, complex formulas, etc.) is required
- Experience with analyzing or implementing Finance/Accounting internal controls and processes
- Experience working in SaaS or Technology industry experience is preferred.
- Experience working with IFRS and US GAAP is a plus
- Experience working with Intacct (accounting software),Microsoft Dynamics ( accounting software) PowerBI, Salesforce (CRM), Concur (Employee expenses), and Xactly (Commissions) is a plus
