About the workplace
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. We are also open to candidates based out of Ontario.
We are seeking a visionary and technically skilled Integration Development Manager to lead a team focused on delivering event-based and workflow-oriented integration solutions using the Azure technology stack. In this role, you will drive the design, development, and governance of secure, scalable, and compliant cloud-native integrations, enabling business agility in a regulated financial services environment.
You will oversee the implementation of Azure-native services such as Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Durable Functions, and API Management, while ensuring secure software development practices and an efficient code management lifecycle.

A typical day would involve:
- Lead a team of developers building event-driven and workflow-based integration solutions using Azure Integration Services (e.g., Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Durable Functions, API Management).
- Architect and implement loosely coupled, event-oriented systems that enable real-time responsiveness and operational resilience across the enterprise.
- Ensure all integration patterns and workflows are designed with security and compliance in mind, adhering to industry regulations, and internal security standards.
- Define and enforce a robust code management strategy across Azure-based integration projects, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, versioning, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Champion DevSecOps principles, embedding security into all stages of the integration lifecycle from design through deployment and monitoring.
- Collaborate with enterprise architects, security teams, cloud infrastructure, and business units to deliver integration solutions aligned with strategic goals.
- Lead the monitoring, alerting, and optimization of workflows to ensure reliability, traceability, and performance at scale.
- Evaluate and recommend Azure-native tools, frameworks, and practices to support workflow orchestration, automation, and API-first strategies.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
You have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Hands-on expertise in Azure Integration Services: Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Durable Functions, and API Management.
- Experience designing and delivering event-driven architectures and workflow automation solutions at enterprise scale.
- Deep understanding of financial data compliance and security practices (OAuth2, TLS, encryption, RBAC).
- Proven experience in code versioning (e.g., Git), CI/CD, and secure release practices within a regulated environment.
- Experience in monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, App Insights, Splunk, Elastic, etc.) to ensure visibility across real-time integrations.
- Strong understanding of financial sector compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
Bonus if you have:
- Microsoft certifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Security Engineer).
- Experience working in highly regulated industries such as banking, capital markets, or fintech.
- Familiarity with event stream processing technologies (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs).
- Knowledge of enterprise-grade workflow orchestration and business process automation.
