Job Summary

The President of Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital and VP Operations PMC, is responsible for the overall operations of the facility and all operating divisions. The President of Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital and VP Operations of PMC ensures organizational integrity, the provision of high-quality, efficient operations, financial results and the development and implementation of a strategic plan that aligns with the mission and vision of Novant Health.

The President of Charlotte Orthopedic Hospital and VP Operations of PMC is responsible for the integration of hospital operations, community medicine, institutes, and innovation centers to successfully deploy and implement strategic initiatives in a meaningful and effective way to achieve optimal outcomes for the facility and the organization as a whole. He/she must balance the authority of the role with direct leadership and oversight of leaders and front-line team members within the facility to the influential oversight of other corporate and indirect reporting relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Leads with Vision- Creates a facility vision and translates strategy into implementation. Anticipates internal and external threats and opportunities to adapt as needed to create successful outcomes. Creates an environment that encourages innovation and risk-taking to achieve the vision.


  • Communicates Effectively - Actively listens and seeks ideas and input from others. Encourages open, timely and transparent two-way communication and exchange of ideas. Successfully onboards and develops an engaging atmosphere with medical staff/physicians, team members, and the community.


  • Focuses on Quality, Safety, and Human Experience- Commits to high-quality, safe, and remarkable patient care in every dimension, every time. Strives for excellent outcomes and promotes the expectation of achieving the highest standards and quality measures. Partners with Quality, Regulatory and Compliance, Legal and other corporate departments to ensure the facility achieves both high reliability and compliance with outside agencies.

Collaborates with organizational leaders and manages interdependencies across divisions/disciplines to design and provide patient care and services including development of patient care programs, establishment of standards of practice, standards of patient care, and policies and procedures.

  • Engages Community- Engages the community by actively being the face and ambassador of Novant Health and participating in community activities. Identifies opportunities to have interactions with representatives in the community (i.e.; rotary, foundation, local boards, etc.)

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree required Healthcare / Business Administration or related field.

Experience: 7 - 10 years progressive executive management experience and working knowledge of all aspects of a large, integrated health system.

Additional Skills/Requirements required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; possess knowledge of current leadership, management, and business concepts, and the ability to participate in developing and implementing organizational strategies to address opportunities to improve organizational performance.; possess the educational and experiential requirements of leadership; possess personal/ professional / educational attributes as defined by federal, state, local laws and regulations.
