Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, financial, programmatic and personnel activities of outpatient and inpatient Diagnostic Imaging Services including, but not limited to x-ray, ultrasound, mammography, CT, MRI, nuclear technology, PET CT, special procedures, electrophysiology laboratory, management of imaging technology, and outpatient medical services (MOIC). This position directs, manages, evaluates, and supervises personnel, activities, programs, and projects in patient care centers, and achieves departmental goals, maintains quality patient care delivery; promotes professional standards in accordance with hospital policy, The Joint Commission standards, and Title XXII and California regulations. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, best practices, and procedures. This position works with the VP of Operations to formulate strategic initiatives and map out tactics to institute innovative delivery systems that improve all radiologic services. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging Services works closely with a variety of stakeholders for program growth and all radiology department activities across the system. The position provides for the delivery of efficient and effective professional clinical care within the above areas.

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or healthcare related field from an accredited university, or equivalent experience preferred
Prefer Certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART)Masters Degree in Nursing Administration or related health care field preferred

EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of five (5) years experience in a Director level position, at an acute care hospital setting. Additional experience within Imaging Services.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Radiologic Technologist Required at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire

PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Demonstrated ability to communicate (orally and written) effectively with diverse others, including, but not limited to, colleagues, managers, medical staff, patients/families, volunteers, and community members. Demonstrated skill in interpersonal and political conflict resolution
2. Prepares and delivers reports to operational leadership outlining progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives, to include performance related to finance, clinical activity, quality, safety, marketing, and human resources
3. Ability to manage personnel through leadership and coaching, acting as mentor to all staff
4. Demonstrated creativity with identifying problems and expressing and implementing ideas for improvements. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to apply critical thinking skills and adapt to a variety of situations with appropriate action
5. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and communicate a team approach to patient care
6. Ability to establish utilization control measures for labor, supplies, and equipment
7. Ability to manage institutional changes through collaborative and positive leadership skills
8. Knowledge of information systems and applications, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
9. Demonstrated commitment to quality through knowledge of its precepts, skillful workplace applications and continuous organizational improvement
10. Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory standards for radiologic and nursing /clinical practice/Joint Commission/Title 22/COBRA, etc.
11. Knowledgeable in professional practice standards, recommended practices. (AORN, AACN, ACC)
