The Deputy Chief Risk Officer plays a crucial role in coordinating with the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to establish and maintain a risk framework that enables individuals at all levels of the company rapidly and proactively identify and manage risk and make balanced, risk-informed decisions in alignment with the risk appetite to achieve performance targets, prevent losses, and seize opportunities for a competitive edge in support of Choice Bank's strategic goals and #peoplefirst mission. The Deputy Chief Risk Officer is directly responsible for overseeing the successful operations and ongoing maturity of all risk management programs.

The base salary for this role will begin at $169,464 and up to $254,191 annually. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. The base salary may vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, experience and geographic location. Full time employees are also eligible for a competitive bonus and benefits package. Responsibilities
Support CRO in tactical and strategic management of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program
- Supports the CRO in establishing and continuously maturing the company's Enterprise Risk Management Program strategy, programs, functions, processes, staffing models, strategic roadmaps and other related program management functions.
- Supports areas of responsibility with regulatory management activities including exam readiness processes, exam preparation, evidence management and regulatory communications.
- Acts as second-in-command to the Chief Risk Officer, functioning as a Chief Risk Officer for the company when that authority is delegated.
- Reports quarterly to the Risk and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Coordinates and directs programs designed to identify, monitor, and minimize all categories of risk across the company.
- Delivers regular risk analysis and reporting to company executives and Board of Directors, as necessary, complete with actionable plans, costs and resources investments necessary for appropriate management of risk within the company's established risk appetite.
- Supports the CRO in directing the company's annual Risk Assessment Program that includes conducting annual risk assessments, executive risk reporting, risk appetite development with the Board of Directors, risk mitigation strategy development and ongoing risk monitoring through Key Risk Indicator (KRI) development and reporting.
- Develop methods to quantify and measure various types of risks and use these quantitative models and tools to estimate potential losses and assess risk exposures.
- Work closely with business units to design and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to reduce the likelihood of identified risks.
- Clearly communicate risk assessments, trends, and potential issues to ensure informed decision making.
- Provide guidance on managing risks associated with new products, services, and technologies.
- Drives technology and innovations to support risk and compliance reporting enhancements and efficiencies.
- Stay current with regulatory requirements and ensure Choice Bank's risk management practices align with the applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish and communicate risk management policies and guidelines to ensure consistent risk management practices throughout the organization.
- Identify and analyze potential risks that the bank might encounter, both internal and external and assess the impact of these risks on the bank's financial health, reputations, and operations.
Oversee key ERM Programs including, TPRM, Compliance and Business Continuity
- Directs and continuously matures the Operational Risk Management Program, responsible for second line of defense risk oversight of Choice Bank operations, including specific programs and activities responsible for privacy risk management, data governance, business continuity and disaster recovery, incident response, physical security and third-party risk management and BaaS risk oversight.
- Directs and continuously matures the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program, responsible for execution and oversight of the Enterprise Risk Assessment, the Enterprise Risk Scorecard and the Bank's and BaaS partner's Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program, the risk and control library, enterprise-wide issue management and coordination and facilitation of monthly Risk & Compliance Committee materials and activities.
- Directs and continuously matures the Financial Risk Management Program, responsible for second line of defense governance and oversight of financial risks managed by the first line of defense (credit, liquidity, market, capital and model risks), including specific programs and activities responsible for model risk governance, stress testing, concentration risk monitoring and credit reviews.

- Manage and continue to build a strong leadership team through ongoing guidance, coaching and training to staff.
