The Senior Manager of the Infrastructure Operations Command Center is responsible for overseeing the Infrastructure Operations and Network Operations teams, ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of all on-premises and cloud infrastructure, as well as data center and branch networks. This leader will drive proactive monitoring, incident management, and continuous process improvement, while cultivating a high-performing, results-driven team. Success in this role requires strong multi-functional collaboration and the implementation of industry best practices to optimize infrastructure operations in alignment with business objectives.

This is a Hybrid role based out of our HQ facility in Newport News, VA, in accordance with the Company Name Flex schedule; 3-days office / 2-days remote.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish and communicate a clear long-term vision and strategic objectives for teams, ensuring alignment with the company's goals. Inspire and empower team members to drive performance and organizational success.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, providing a roadmap for team priorities that align with business goals. Ensure teams understand their contributions to the overall success of the organization.
  • Identify high-impact initiatives, prioritize them, and allocate resources effectively to balance short-term needs with long-term objectives.
  • Lead data-driven decisions that guide team direction and balance operational requirements with strategic goals to achieve positive organizational outcomes.
  • Further a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to explore new technologies and methodologies that drive growth and enhance performance.
  • Serve as a key liaison between senior leadership and managers, ensuring clear communication of priorities and providing feedback. Build strong relationships across departments (e.g., IT, Security, Operations) to align efforts and streamline processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to managers and teams, promoting an environment of learning and development to prepare for both current and future challenges.
  • Lead response efforts during network or infrastructure incidents, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with collaborators to minimize downtime.
  • Assess and mitigate operational risks, collaborating with managers to implement strategies that ensure continuity and prevent disruptions.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customer concerns related to vendor issues, ensuring timely resolution and furthering strong, mutually beneficial relationships through regular business reviews.
  • Find opportunities for process improvements to streamline operations, optimize spending, and improve service delivery.
  • Use data analysis to identify and implement opportunities for enhancing operational performance and service quality.
  • Foster a customer-first approach across teams, prioritizing customer satisfaction, service quality, and responsiveness.
  • Resolve conflicts between teams, vendors, or collaborators, ensuring solutions align with organizational goals and manage relationships.
  • Actively engage with internal and external partners to understand needs, gather feedback, and incorporate input into decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, regulations, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • At least 10-12 years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations and/or Network Operations, including roles with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in leading and developing high-performing teams in a large-scale IT environment.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on mentoring team members, driving performance, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to develop and complete long-term strategies that align with organizational objectives, while adapting to changing market dynamics and operational needs.
  • Outstanding communication skills, capable of clearly conveying complex information, expectations, and feedback to various collaborators, including senior leadership, team members, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate multiple options and make informed decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term business goals, considering both risks and rewards.
  • Proven focus on achieving measurable outcomes and delivering tangible results, with a consistent record of driving business success through effective decision-making and operational excellence.
  • Highly adaptable and resilient, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and navigate unexpected challenges or disruptions effectively.
  • Proven success in leading and optimizing sophisticated IT systems and networks in large-scale, critically important environments. Skilled in driving operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Demonstrated success in improving processes, implementing standard methodologies, and pinpointing opportunities for ongoing progress to achieve operational excellence.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular hours as needed to maintain operational stability, particularly during critical system updates, outages, or emergencies related to supply chain operations.

Pay Range:

$9,458.97 - $16,551.03

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
