In this role, you will lead and manage a large, multi-disciplinary team of package designers and Signal and Power Integrity analysts to develop advanced design and simulation techniques. You will establish methodologies to deliver error-free design execution for Lightmatter products from package to systems. You will collaborate with Package and System Architects to develop cutting-edge technologies that power AI architectures, setting new industry benchmarks in computing power, performance, and efficiency.

About this Role
In this role, you will lead and manage a large, multi-disciplinary team of package designers and Signal and Power Integrity analysts to develop advanced design and simulation techniques. You will establish methodologies to deliver error-free design execution for Lightmatter products from package to systems. You will collaborate with Package and System Architects to develop cutting-edge technologies that power AI architectures, setting new industry benchmarks in computing power, performance, and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a cross-disciplinary team of 8 to 10 engineers with expertise in Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and package design (including passage and laser design).
- Develop and implement state-of-the-art analysis techniques to ensure accurate, predictable, and high-confidence results.
- Establish validation techniques and drive data collection efforts to enhance the reliability of analysis outcomes.
- Define and implement analysis methodologies and validation metrologies to ensure error-free and timely package and system design tape-outs.
- Participate in program-level design reviews and publish documents to provide evidence-based indicators of risk at each milestone.
- Contribute to technology roadmap discussions, driving innovation and optimization through analysis to develop solutions that align with Lightmatter's product requirements.
- Define group objectives and key results, and evaluate team accomplishments to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Recruit and develop top talent, continuously reviewing skill requirements and providing training to meet evolving business needs.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment.
- Manage employee performance and development.
Requirements:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or a relevant field.
- Minimum 15 years of proven expertise in Signal/Power Integrity and package design/layout optimization.
- At least 5 years of experience successfully leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of designers and analysts.
- Experience in lab-scale validation techniques in SI/PI.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following simulation tools:
- Power Integrity: PowerSI, PowerDC, H-Spice and ADS
- Signal Integrity: Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS
- Knowledge of EDA tools such as Mentor Graphics and Allegro.
- Understanding of software tools and IT infrastructure requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies, including 2D/2.5D & 3D packaging with the ability to evaluate trade-offs across design, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Experience working with substrates suppliers, OSATs, EDA, and test vendors.
- Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities.
