Culmen International is looking for a Molecular Virology Lead Scientist to support a USAMRIID program at Fort Detrick, MD.
The Molecular Virology Lead Scientist directs research aimed at characterizing viral genomes, evaluating candidate vaccines and therapeutics, and supporting biodefense initiatives through laboratory and collaborative efforts.
What You'll Do in Your New Role
- Design and execute experiments investigating viral gene function.
- Lead assay development and in vitro infection studies.
- Analyze transcriptional, translational, and mutational profiles.
- Maintain compliance with GLP and biosafety regulations.
- Supervise laboratory staff and coordinate project execution.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in molecular biology or virology.
- 6+ years in molecular virology and laboratory research leadership.
- Experience in viral genome manipulation and reverse genetics.
- Proficient in qPCR, Western blotting, and gene editing tools.
- Familiar with regulatory guidelines for therapeutic development.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.
Desired Qualifications
- Ph.D. preferred.
