Responsibilities

The Vice President of Therapy Operations provides strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and operational guidance for all rehabilitation services (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology) enterprise-wide. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, participant-centered care, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals to support frail older adults aging in place. The VP will drive innovation, positively impacting clinical excellence, standardization, and efficiency in rehab services while mentoring and developing rehab leaders.

Essential Functions and Work Responsibilities

Functional Category: Strategy & Operational Leadership

Estimated Percent of time Spent - 50%
Lead innovation, design, standardization, and continuous improvement of care delivery models, workflows, and clinical protocols.
Develop and implement a national rehabilitation strategy aligned with organizational objectives and PACE care principles.
Analyze utilization, performance, and financial trends to inform enterprise-level decisions and innovations.
Leverage analyses to implement actions in support of site-level operations with scalable staffing models, scheduling strategies, productivity benchmarks, and resource optimization.
Identify, develop, and scale alternative rehab delivery models such as home-based therapy, tele-rehab, and support of participants in the rehabilitation process post hospitalizations.
Serve as the national liaison for rehabilitation during executive planning, enterprise initiatives, and integration efforts.
Assists with the development of the annual FTE and operations budget
Develops short- and long-term objectives, quality standards and operational policies and procedures in collaboration with the SVP HCSS, compliance, and other applicable members of leadership.
Develops and drives annual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the Rehab group creating measurements for evaluation of success of individual therapists, leaders, and the overall department.
Assists with identification, integration, and development of therapy within acquisitions and De Novo sites
Monitor and identify efficiencies within use of EMR.

Functional Category: Clinical Excellence & Regulatory Compliance

Estimated Percent of time Spent - 30%
Ensure high-quality, compliant, and participant-centered care across all rehab disciplines.
Oversee clinical quality initiatives including KPI development, outcome tracking, and functional goal achievement.
Accountable for national clinical outcomes and performance of the Therapy business line.
Lead system-wide quality improvement processes to enhance participant satisfaction, safety, fall reduction, and functional independence.
Ensure full compliance with CMS, state regulations, and accrediting body standards specific to rehabilitation in the PACE model.
Conduct regular clinical audits, support documentation accuracy, and enforce consistent use of EMR and therapy platforms.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IDT) to embed rehab services within the overall care continuum.
Promote evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary coordination, and goal alignment for participant care planning.
Execution of education for therapy teams related to InnovAge PACE/LIFE systems, goals, compliance, and EMR.

Functional Category: Talent Development & Stakeholder Engagement

Estimated Percent of time Spent - 20%
Build and lead a high-performing national rehab workforce and foster strong internal and external partnerships.
Recruit, onboard, mentor, and evaluate regional and local rehab leaders.
Facilitate leadership development and continuing education opportunities for clinical growth and team advancement.
Foster collaboration among rehab teams and with other disciplines across all sites to promote best practices and innovation.
Act as a central point of contact for stakeholder engagement, including nursing, primary care, social work, and external partners.
Represent the rehab function at national leadership forums, clinical governance meetings, and strategic planning sessions.
Develop and maintain external relationships with vendors, professional organizations, and academic institutions to enhance service delivery and recruitment pipelines.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

Education
Bachelors, Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology required.
Active licensure in good standing in at least one U.S. state; ability to obtain multi-state licensure as needed.

Work Experience and Qualifications
Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in rehabilitation services, including 5+ years in a multi-site leadership role.
Demonstrated success in leading clinical teams, standardizing operations, improving care efficiency, and driving measurable outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to use data to drive decisions.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with ability to influence at all levels.
Experience with EMR systems, rehab documentation platforms, and data analytics tools.

PREFERRED
Prior experience in senior care settings; PACE, long-term care, or home health experience strongly preferred.
Deep knowledge of CMS regulations and PACE program requirements.

Posted Salary Range

USD $200,000.00 - USD $340,000.00 /Yr.
