Location: Jacksonville, FL 32210
Description:
Job Posting Summary
Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a highly qualified Urologic Oncology Surgeon to join our distinguished faculty in the Division of Surgery.
Based in Northeast Florida, Baptist MD Anderson brings an unprecedented level of oncology care to the Southeastern United States, offering physicians a compelling blend of community-focused patient care and the benefits of an academically oriented model. Baptist Health is proud to be one of only six unique health systems in the United States chosen to replicate MD Anderson Cancer Center's multidisciplinary and proven model of care, serving as the Southeast patient care hub for MD Anderson Cancer Network, a program of MD Anderson.
Baptist MD Anderson is the region's epicenter for cancer care. We have dedicated buildings and locations in the Baptist system, including a new 300,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. Our distinguished multidisciplinary urologic oncology program is centered on a collaborative and integrated team approach that combines the expertise of pathology, radiology, medical and radiation oncology, surgery, psychology, navigation, rehabilitation, and survivorship programs and support. Applicants will join a group that includes three existing fellowship-trained urologic oncologists, a general urologist, and several allied care providers.
Qualified candidates are board-certified or board-eligible with a distinguished record of accomplishment. They have, preferably, completed a fellowship sanctioned by the Society of Urologic Oncology. Interested applicants should demonstrate the skills and experience necessary to establish and maintain an active clinical practice in urologic oncology, with a willingness and interest in performing general urology as needed. The successful candidate will possess the ability to develop productive areas of scholarship, a commitment to patient-centered, multidisciplinary oncology care, and a level of achievement that warrants an adjunct academic appointment as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Northeast Florida is alive with miles of beaches and waterways, professional sports teams, a robust economy, championship golf courses, a wide range of exceptionally diverse cultural and recreational opportunities, and abundant natural resources. Recently ranked by Forbes Magazine as one of the top two most desirable areas for relocation in the United States, the region boasts some of the best cost-of-living and quality-of-life experiences that the Sunshine State has to offer. Immediately within reach are world-famous destinations, attractions, theme parks, entertainment, and recreation for individuals and families of all ages.
