Responsibilities
The Director of National Retail is a senior leader who will work with the VP, Head of National Retail to provide support, partner on building relationships with our National Retail relationship partners and drive organizational effectiveness. The Director of National Retail acts as a trusted advisor, helping to align the profitability and revenue goals with the overall business objectives
Qualifications
Salary Range
$130,000-$170,000.00 USD with performance-based bonus potential.
The annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.

Responsibilities
The Director of National Retail is a senior leader who will work with the VP, Head of National Retail to provide support, partner on building relationships with our National Retail relationship partners and drive organizational effectiveness. The Director of National Retail acts as a trusted advisor, helping to align the profitability and revenue goals with the overall business objectives
- Assist the VP in developing and executing revenue strategies, profitability, identifying growth opportunities with the company's overall objectives.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication between different departments within the organization including, regional retail distribution, underwriting, marketing, product, and claims. The Director helps ensure alignment and coordination to drive profitability and revenue growth.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) and providing regular reports to strategic relationships and VP. This role helps leadership to make data-driven decisions and identify areas for improvement. You will develop and implement sales initiatives, monitor sales performance, and take corrective actions to ensure consistent profitable revenue generation.
- Partner with VP and executive team to define the strategic initiatives and projects ensuring timely execution, successful implementation, and follow-up. The Director will develop a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, solutioning and leading improvement opportunities that align with the company's business objectives. Success is measured by positive change to business growth trajectory, efficiencies, and overall distribution performance with the strategic relationships.
- Establish and maintain effective and efficient communications with distribution and across all departments.
- Implement operating procedures to identify opportunities, present ideas, and make recommendations based upon analysis to further the organization's short- and long-term goals.
- Assist marketing with preparation of quarterly presentations and monthly reporting to strategic relationship partners. Develop joint business plans with key strategic partners.
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to identify opportunities and stay ahead of the competition and use those insights to adjust distribution strategies accordingly.
- Cultivate relationships with key partners to build a sustainable pipeline of opportunities to drive revenue and improve profitability. Managing existing business by identifying cross sell opportunities. Building and maintaining strong relationships with key strategic partners and increasing our share of wallet.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of territory management and/or underwriting experience
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining agency partnerships
- Strong background in commercial insurance with a particular emphasis on Workers' Compensation, Property/Liability, Commercial Umbrella, and Commercial Auto. Professional Liability experience a plus.
- Keen knowledge of the P&C marketplace, including competitive intelligence
- Self-motivated and ability to work independently
- This position requires frequent travel by both car and air.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Excellent technical skills, including knowledge and experience working with a variety of software programs.
