Automation Project Manager Purpose:

The Project Manager is an integral member of the project team responsible for managing multiple business unit projects and complex single business unit projects. The Project Manager is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities.

Automation Project Manager Success Factors:
  • Project Management: Successfully manage projects to be delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Effectively manage scope changes and issue change requests when appropriate.
  • Project Proposal: Effectively manage the proposal process by ensuring that all stakeholders are involved, deliverables and deadlines are achieved, and a quality proposal that clearly defines our scope, schedule, and commercial details is delivered.
  • Consistency and Quality: Adhere to the project management processes and project execution plans. Drive accountability to others on the project team to ensure quality and consistently follow the processes and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Demonstrate a desire for continuous improvement by recognizing processes that can be improved and being an active team member in making improvements.

  • Automation Project Manager Responsibilities:
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
    • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
    • Lead the proposal process, holding all participants accountable for deliverables and deadlines
    • Ensure resource availability
    • Coordinate internal resources and third parties for the flawless execution of projects
    • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
    • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
    • Support the company in the development and constant improvement of company project management standards, procedures, and best practices
    • Report and escalate to management as needed
    • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
    • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation

    Automation Project Manager Skills/Qualifications:
    • B.S. in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred
    • Proven working experience in project management related to I&C projects
    • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Well organized with attention to detail
    • Effective prioritization and time management skills
    • Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous process improvement
    • Discreet with confidential information
    • Proven ability to work closely with others and find solutions to problems

    Automation Project Manager Working Conditions:

    Working in an office setting or a manufacturing facility. Driving and operating machinery involved. This position may require evening, weekend and holiday hours, as well as travel (15%). Lifting up to 50 pounds is required on occasion.

    Automation Project Manager Compensation:

    Base range: $75,000 - $100,000 annual salary. For candidates with significant direct Project Management experience (at least 10 years) the range may go up to $120,000.

    Work experience, industry knowledge, and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the base wage.

    Other: Eligible for additional incentive compensation including an annual profit share award.
