IT Business Analyst II/ IT Business Analyst III
Designs, configures and manages core automated programs and systems. A liaison between IT and the business unit responsible for eliciting business requirements, understanding business processes and translating them to particular software solutions. This includes creating business requirements documents, attending workshops and meetings, taking minutes and action items, following up on open items and providing status to team leadership. In addition, BA may work on IT test script creation, integration testing and working with developers on defect resolution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
IT Business Analyst II
- Elicit requirements for IT projects using interviews, document analyses, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analyses, tasks and workflow analyses.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
- Work independently with users and under direction of project managers on large projects
- Drive and challenge business units in their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
- Develop requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc statistical reports
- Test processes periodically to ensure they are meeting corporate and governmental requirements
- Works closely with management, peers, and other departments within IT
- Meet the requirements of internal and external auditors
- Evaluation and recommendation of process revisions to all levels of IT management and SBU clients

- Create and analyze business objects reports
- Able to operate as a self-starter with general direction from supervisor/manager
Education:
IT Business Analyst II/ IT Business Analyst III
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, will consider a combination of education and related experience.
Experience:
IT Business Analyst II
- Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience/knowledge of business concepts, practices and procedures related to the utility industry
IT Business Analyst III
- Requires a minimum of 5-8 year experience/knowledge of business concepts, practices and procedures related to the utility industry
IT Business Analyst II
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Able to demonstrate proficiency in IT testing tools
- Able to use enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies
- Able to manage multiple initiatives, projects, priorities and deadlines
- Able to demonstrate strong analytical and product management skills including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements
- Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to interact professionally with a diverse group including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Able to demonstrate strong problem solving and organizational skills
- Able to collaborate with others to accomplish the company's/organization objectives
- Must be highly dependable and reliable

- Able to apply knowledge for analysis and creation of SQL for reporting needs
