What is the Role?
As Academic Operations & Compliance Manager (AOCM), you ensure accurate student data, streamline compliance processes, and support campus operations teams in meeting deadlines. A systems-thinker and problem-solver, you refine workflows to make expectations clear and efficient. You're equally comfortable analyzing academic data, troubleshooting tech issues, and diving into policy details to find answers. Because you work across campuses and workstreams, there are times when you may have insight that no one else has on the Academics Team. You're both curious and an intellectual risk taker and as a strong team player, you provide hands-on support while holding others accountable, consistently driven by the goal of improving student and teacher success.
The AOCM will be hired by and report to the Chief Academic Officer.

What You'll Be Asked To Do
Platform Management
- Manage a system for submitting and responding to support tickets for platforms such as SchoolRunner, PowerSchool, and Illuminate DnA
- Maintain, update, and use school and district student information systems, including PowerSchool, SchoolRunner, and ATS
- Oversee SESIS enrollment and ensure accurate SESIS data on an ongoing basis
- Support Clever rostering updates throughout the school year to reflect updates to staffing and student enrollment
Student Testing
- Oversee NYSITELL and NYSESLAT administration in collaboration with campus Academic Operations Managers, including materials ordering, testing schedules, and test security
- Input scores from state tests
- Learn specific scholar language proficiencies and accommodations; hire translators and interpreters for standardized testing
- Manage testing accommodations in high-stakes testing platforms such as Nextera, College Board, and other NYSED systems
Data Management and Analysis
- Create high-quality academic reports and/or data to support the Academics Team
- Develop, maintain, and support internal data trackers to measure student academic performance, state test and external assessment proficiency
- Support the Director of Data and Analytics with external data reporting requests, including Level 0 reports, funder data requests, SUNY accountability, and Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC)
Compliance and Reporting
- Assist the Director of Data and Analytics and Director of Academic Inclusion in all aspects of compliance for state and federal reporting, particularly for MLLs and scholars with IEPs
- Develop and support systems for ensuring IEP compliance, Related Service Authorization compliance, and related service provider attendance, in collaboration with campus Deans of Special Education
Operational Support
- Manage the annual curriculum purchasing process in collaboration with campus AOMs and the Academics Team; track deadlines and budget related to purchasing
- Act as a liaison for special education bussing, Medicaid reimbursement, home language questionnaires, and IEP compliance
- Provide training and ongoing support for staff on student information systems, data analysis, and compliance
- Ensure accurate and efficient data management to support instructional and compliance needs

- Cultural competencies to work in low-income communities and a willingness to examine your beliefs and biases across lines of difference
- At least 2 years of operations and/or analytic work experience
- At least 2 years of school experience, charter school experience a plus
- Strong background with Excel and data systems
- Knowledge of some or all of the following educational platforms: Illuminate DnA, SESIS, PowerSchool, SchoolRunner, ATS
- Experience administering high-stakes testing
- Familiarity with NYS Special Education compliance and policy
- Bachelor's degree required

Benefits and Compensation
- Employees at Coney Island Prep are provided with salaries that are highly competitive, set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual's skills and experiences relevant to the role. The salary range for this role is $80,000 - 85,000.
