The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all label products meet or exceed the company's quality standards and customer specifications. This role involves leading quality assurance and control processes, managing the quality team, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and continuously improving processes to maintain high-quality production output. The Quality Manager will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and customer service teams to address quality issues and improve overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system (QMS) that ensures the consistent production of high-quality label products.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes, raw materials, and finished products to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Ensure that labels meet regulatory and industry-specific standards, such as ISO, FDA, and other relevant certifications.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate production processes to identify opportunities for quality improvements and cost reductions.
- Implement process control measures and statistical quality control (SQC) tools to drive improvements in defect reduction and process consistency.
- Collaborate with production teams to design and execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any identified quality issues.
- Lead and manage the quality assurance team, ensuring that all team members are trained, motivated, and working effectively.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to quality control technicians, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set objectives, and establish development plans for quality team members.
- Work closely with customers to understand their quality expectations and resolve any quality-related issues that arise.
- Collaborate with the procurement department to ensure that suppliers provide high-quality materials that meet company specifications.
- Investigate customer complaints and return goods, identifying root causes and working to resolve any recurring issues.
- Ensure all products comply with industry-specific regulatory standards, including health and safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and labeling laws.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, new regulations, and best practices related to quality management in the labeling industry.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure continued certification for relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001, FSC, or others).
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of quality inspections, tests, audits, and any corrective actions taken.
- Prepare and present regular quality performance reports to senior management, including key metrics such as defect rates, customer complaints, and corrective action status.
- Ensure all quality-related documentation is organized, easily accessible, and compliant with industry standards.
- Proactively identify potential quality risks and implement strategies to mitigate them before they impact production or customers.
- Use root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that quality issues are addressed swiftly and effectively to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and implement training programs for all production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure the company's quality processes remain cutting-edge.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Packaging, or a related field. A master's degree or certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001, CQE) is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 5-7 years of experience in quality management or quality control in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in the labels, packaging, or printing industry.
- Proven experience managing and leading a quality team, implementing quality systems, and overseeing audits and certifications.
- Knowledge of label production processes, materials, and printing technologies (e.g., flexographic, digital printing, screen printing) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) and industry standards (ISO 9001, etc.).
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and other quality tools such as Six Sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make decisions based on findings.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management software.
