Job Purpose

The Locomotive Service Quality manager is responsible for driving continuous improvement ensuring process adherence, and leading technical fleet performance reporting for the service account. This role serves as the leader of process focusing on work scope compliance, data quality and material process compliance while working cross-functionally with engineering, quality and other key stakeholders. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving service quality, enhancing operational efficiency and fostering cross-functional collaboration to improve fleet performance and service outcomes.

Key Job Elements
Lead and drive process adherence across the service account;
Implement and sustain Lead Six Sigma tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, 5S, Visual Management and A3 problem-solving;
Identify and implement process enhancement to improve efficiency, quality and compliance;
Track work scope compliance and ensure adherence to defined processes;
Conduct audits on Locomotive Tracking System (LTS) process compliance and data quality;
Monitor material process compliance to ensure accuracy and efficiency in warranty, CAPA, LHFM reporting, core returns, parts delivery and inventory management;
Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, issues and improvement opportunities;
Develop and maintain technical reports for internal and customer use;
Provide insights and recommendations based on fleet performance metrics;
Collaborate with field service teams to drive process improvements and ensure best practices are followed;
Work closely with engineering, supply chain, and other functional teams to resolve technical and operational issues;
Communicate effectively with customers, providing data-driven insights and process improvement updates.

Qualifications and Experience
Background in field service operations is highly preferred;
Experience with data analysis and interpretation of locomotive failure and repair data;
Proven experience working cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, commercial and other teams;
Experience applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies with practical experience in tools like Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Management, and A3 Problem Solving;
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and drive insights;
Detail oriented with a focus on compliance, auditing, and process adherence;
Excellent communication skills for engaging with both internal stakeholders and customers;
Ability to lead and influence teams toward a culture of continuous improvement.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions
Strength - Position requires lifting of 50lbs. Requires stamina and strength to work in tight and confined
spaces while installing or repair machinery and components;
Motion - Position requires standing and/or walking the majority of the day. Frequent walking, squatting,
kneeling, and climbing of steps and stairs;
Vision/Hearing Requirements - Exposed to high levels of noise and vibration from using tools. Position is
exposed to cutting torches and welding operations. The use of proper PPE is required. The Position
requires the ability to read QWI and schematics and understand instructions;
Work Environment - Position can be located inside or outside, dependent on situation. When inside, the
employees are subject to temperature extremes in non-temperature-controlled environments. When
outside employees are subject to all weather elements. Employees will work with oils and other
lubricants;
Emotional Demands - Expected to work and cooperate as part of team to meet production requirements;
Safety - Position is safety sensitive, as it requires working in and around live tracks. Position requires strict adherence to safety policies (i.e blue flag) and use of all
PPE.
