Responsibilities

Provides leadership and project management in support of the Health Division's information systems; collaborates with various departments to identify technology needs and provide effective solutions; identifies and recommends new technology solutions and ensures their successful implementation; prepares reports and works on special projects for the Health Division and other initiatives as determined by administration; utilizes Strata Jazz software and other systems for decision support related to financial planning, analytics, and performance metrics; utilizes Cerner software to manage electronic health records, patient data, and other healthcare related processes related to patient records; utilizes G4 software for managing records and decision support; utilizes ACS (Advanced Clinical Solutions) software to manage clinical and operational processes; works to implement advanced and highly complex software solutions with minimal supervision; proficient in both functional and business process understanding and advanced technical solutions; provides technical production support; designs and develops system enhancements and new documentation; assists and supervises implementation of new software/upgrades for the Banner system and other departmental software; oversees general IT issues with Banner related to health systems; identifies solutions to better utilize the Banner Finance System; ensures programs, processes, and policies are designed to provide a strong system of internal controls; identifies areas in which processes can be improved and streamlined; works with internal, external, and state auditors with respect to matters impacting financial and general accounting reports and information; pepares reports requested by management and where applicable, provides analytical commentary and advice; identifies areas in which financial reporting can be streamlined or made more efficient through more effective use of the Banner/PAWS system; assists and supervises implementation of new software/upgrades for the Banner system and other departmental software; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama to include coursework in computer programming/computer sciences, and eight years of professional accounting or finance experience, four years of which included business applications development and implementation.
