Description

Foodmate, a Duravant company, is a leader in innovative poultry processing automation technology, committed to providing innovative, leading-edge solutions to the poultry industry. With over 15 years of experience, we pride ourselves on delivering high-performance equipment that enhances plant efficiency. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a Manager of Sales Projects to our team, who will oversee project management while also leading and developing a skilled team of project managers.

Role Overview:

As the Manager of Sales Projects, you will play a dual role-both managing a team of project managers and taking ownership of key projects from handover through completion. You will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of installation projects, managing financials, timelines, and customer relations, as well as improving internal processes to enhance project efficiency.

This leadership position will require strong skills in project management, team development, financial oversight, and process improvement. You will work closely with other leadership roles within the organization, helping to streamline workflows from project handoff through closeout, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Project Management & Execution:
  • Oversee all aspects of installation projects, from sales handover to project completion, startup, and sign-off.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in project kick-off calls, develop and manage project scopes, and track project progress.
  • Provide detailed weekly reporting on project status, budgets, forecasts, and timelines.
  • Manage customer project responsible teams, ensuring that all teams are aligned with project goals and schedules.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to review project progress and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Lead system commissioning and project acceptance to ensure all deliverables meet or exceed customer expectations.

Team Development & Leadership:
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3 project managers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of their projects.
  • Support the lifecycle service team in developing strong site managers to lead the installation crews effectively.
  • Develop and implement training programs and initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of the project management team and site managers.
  • Foster a collaborative, teamwork-oriented environment that promotes knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and mutual support.
  • Identify and implement improvements to internal processes, including project handoff, status tracking, and closeout procedures, to ensure efficiency and consistency across all projects.
  • Motivate and engage the project management team, setting clear expectations and inspiring high performance to meet organizational goals.

Financial & Resource Management:
  • Support the financial management of each project, ensuring all costs are tracked, reported, and reconciled, including change orders, credits, and vendor payments.
  • Work with lifecycle services to ensure adequate staffing levels for all projects, balancing resources effectively.
  • Process project invoices and check requests, working with Accounts Payable for outside contractors as needed.

Process Improvement & Reporting:
  • Analyze project workflows and identify areas for improvement to streamline processes and enhance overall project efficiency.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of internal processes from project handoff through to closeout.
  • Support the client throughout the project, ensuring transparent communication regarding project status, financials, and resource management.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained across all areas of responsibility and consistently identify opportunities to improve quality and productivity.

Collaboration & Communication:
  • Maintain strong communication with customers, customer project responsible teams, and internal teams to ensure alignment on project goals, timelines, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project transitions and proper resource allocation.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers during the project lifecycle, addressing issues and ensuring their satisfaction.

Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities:
  • Ensure quality data entry of project-related information into project management software (e.g., Smartsheet) and dashboards.
  • Oversee project close-out processes, including completion of checklists, lessons learned, and final project reports.

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of technical project management experience. Experience in the food processing industry, particularly in poultry, is a plus.

    • Ability to manage capital equipment installations and commissioning.
    • Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment specifications.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 75% to project sites as needed.
  • Technical Expertise: A strong understanding of technical systems and equipment, with the ability to manage the complexities of large-scale installation projects.
