General Purpose:
Responsible for the design, development, and testing of new products. This role may include providing technical guidance to junior engineers and other technical personnel. The individual is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test new mechanical products and systems.
  • Lead cross-functional product development teams.
  • Plan and conduct testing of mechanical systems.
  • Perform technical calculations to ensure product functionality, safety, and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product development challenges through analysis and re-engineering.
  • Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to optimize designs and assess stresses, loads, deflections, natural frequencies, and mass properties.
  • Handle administrative tasks to support product release for fabrication, machining, and assembly.
  • Develop testing specifications, as well as operation and service manuals.
  • Define project tasks, oversee engineering development, manage product readiness, and support the initiation of manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure effective utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Adhere to project schedules and meet quality standards.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including robotics, control systems, and solid modeling software.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in performing technical calculations for mechanical system design.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Creative and innovative mindset.
  • Familiarity with automation, value engineering, and product design practices.
  • Willingness to travel on short notice to provide technical support when needed.


Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise designers and other technical staff as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or
  • Master's Degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of experience, or
  • D. in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.


Compensation:

  • Salary Range: $88,000 - $97,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
