Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test new mechanical products and systems.
- Lead cross-functional product development teams.
- Plan and conduct testing of mechanical systems.
- Perform technical calculations to ensure product functionality, safety, and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve product development challenges through analysis and re-engineering.
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools to optimize designs and assess stresses, loads, deflections, natural frequencies, and mass properties.
- Handle administrative tasks to support product release for fabrication, machining, and assembly.
- Develop testing specifications, as well as operation and service manuals.
- Define project tasks, oversee engineering development, manage product readiness, and support the initiation of manufacturing processes.
- Ensure effective utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Adhere to project schedules and meet quality standards.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, including robotics, control systems, and solid modeling software.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Proficiency in performing technical calculations for mechanical system design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to take initiative.
- Creative and innovative mindset.
- Familiarity with automation, value engineering, and product design practices.
- Willingness to travel on short notice to provide technical support when needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May supervise designers and other technical staff as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience, or
- Master's Degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of experience, or
- D. in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows and applications such as Word, Excel, and Access.
Compensation:
- Salary Range: $88,000 - $97,000 USD annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
