Projects & Construction Lead

Summary of Position

The Projects & Construction Lead is responsible for the ongoing field construction management of tank and project work, including contractor safety, progress, productivity, and compliance with Company plans and specifications. This position is responsible for ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In addition, this position coordinates and directs the safe execution of Capital Project work and field construction activities, collaborating with contractors, operations, maintenance, engineering, and procurement. The role also involves final acceptance of construction for the assigned project work. This position reports to the Capital Projects & Programs Manager.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of vocational training or college degree related to field of work is preferred.
  • Project Management Professional or Certified Construction Manager certification is preferred.
  • Eight (8) years or more of experience in roles such as Construction Supervisor, Project Coordinator, Project Planner/Scheduler, or other related positions.
  • With at least Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing maintenance execution within oil and gas or petrochemical facilities.
  • Experience with Primavera Project Management (P6) and MS Project.
  • Proven track record of successful work performance and accountability from previous roles.
  • Strong understanding of construction concepts, principles and practices applicable to multi-disciplined engineering projects including design, layout, and supervision of construction operations.
  • Ability to effectively work with others and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment to meet business needs.
  • Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain, or currently possess, a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Work is generally in the field - with some office responsibilities.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move up-to 50 pounds, push & pull, reach overhead, operate hand tools, stoop & squat, wear breathing apparatus, enter confined spaces, climb ladders/scaffolding and utilize all necessary personal protective equipment.
