We are seeking an Vice President, Commercial Analytics and Operations to support our Commercial team. This individual will lead the global commercial analytics and operations function, driving data-informed decision-making and operational excellence across regions. Individual will provide strategic direction for commercial analytics (forecasting, performance tracking, market insights) and ensure launch readiness and efficient commercial operations.

What You'll Do:

As an Vice President, Commercial Analytics and Operations, you will play a key role in:

  • Global Commercial Analytics Leadership: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive commercial analytics strategy across all regions. Oversee forecasting models, sales and revenue projections, and performance tracking dashboards to monitor in-line product performance and upcoming launches. Ensure robust market analytics, including competitive intelligence, patient journey mapping, and market trend analysis, to identify opportunities and risks in the cell therapy and bispecific antibody landscape. Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to executive leadership to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation.


  • Strategic Planning & Decision Support: Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership by conducting scenario analyses and business case modeling for key decisions (e.g. new market entry, indication expansion, pricing strategy). Translate complex data into actionable insights and present clear, fact-based recommendations to support portfolio strategy, annual operating plans, and long-range planning. Drive the development of 3-5 year commercial plans aligned with corporate objectives, ensuring that analytics and insights inform our strategy at every step.


  • Operational Excellence & Launch Readiness: Oversee global commercial operations to ensure launch readiness and operational excellence for cell therapy products across multiple regions. Chair cross-functional launch planning teams to coordinate activities such as market preparation, supply chain alignment, regulatory milestones, and sales force readiness. Implement best practices in launch excellence, creating detailed launch roadmaps and contingency plans to ensure day-one success in each target market. Continuously improve commercial processes (SOPs, playbooks) for efficiency and scalability, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality requirements in each region.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Medical Affairs and Regulatory teams to incorporate feedback from clinical data and regulatory changes into commercial plans. Align with Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure demand forecasts for personalized cell therapies are accurate and achievable, considering the unique logistics of cell therapy delivery.


  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing Commercial Analytics & Operations team that can execute on Immatics' vision. Provide mentorship, clear direction, and professional development to directors and managers across sub-functions such as forecasting, sales operations, market research, and data analytics. Cultivate a culture of excellence, accountability, and innovation within the team - encouraging continuous learning in emerging areas like digital analytics, AI/ML applications, and omnichannel customer engagement. Ensure the team works as an integrated partner with other departments and regional teams, and that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined for effective execution.


  • Performance Management & Optimization: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics for commercial activities and regularly report on performance to the executive team. Oversee the design and delivery of dashboards and reports that track sales performance, budget vs. actuals, market share, and other critical metrics in real-time. Identify drivers and barriers to product performance; proactively flag issues or gaps and lead initiatives to address them (e.g., adjusting tactics in underperforming regions, reallocating resources, or launching targeted training programs). Leverage data to optimize the marketing mix and salesforce effectiveness, ensuring high ROI on commercial investments and agility in responding to market changes.


  • Process Improvement & Systems Optimization: Champion operational excellence by continuously evaluating and enhancing commercial processes and systems. Oversee the implementation of state-of-the-art tools and platforms for CRM, business intelligence, and data analytics to support decision making. Ensure data quality and governance standards are maintained for all commercial data sources. Drive process optimization projects such as forecasting methodology enhancements, sales and operations planning (S&OP) improvements, and more efficient cross-functional planning cycles. Engage and manage external vendors or consultants as needed to augment capabilities, ensuring high-quality delivery and cost-effectiveness.


  • Stakeholder Communication and Alignment: Act as a bridge between analytics and action - clearly communicate insights, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders at all levels, from frontline sales managers to C-suite executives. Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations on commercial performance, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the Board or executive committees. Facilitate regular cross-functional meetings to align commercial tactics with medical, development, finance, and supply chain plans. By maintaining transparent and proactive communication, ensure that data-driven insights are embedded in every major commercial decision.


Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Science, or related field is required.


  • Industry Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, with a significant portion in commercial analytics, commercial operations, or related functions. Experience must include leadership roles with broad scope (e.g., managing forecasting, sales analytics, and operational teams). Prior involvement in cell therapy, gene therapy, oncology, or other specialty therapeutics is highly desirable, given the unique commercial challenges of these products.


  • Analytical Expertise: Proven track record in building and overseeing forecasting models, market research, and performance analytics for commercial organizations. Deep understanding of pharmaceutical data sources and analytics tools (e.g., IQVIA/Symphony health data, CRM systems, BI dashboards). Able to interpret complex datasets and extract actionable business insights.


  • Operational Excellence: Extensive experience with product launch planning and commercial operations. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes that improve sales force effectiveness, launch readiness, territory planning, and overall operational efficiency. Familiarity with compliance requirements and regulatory considerations in commercial operations across major markets (USA, EU, Asia).


  • Strategic Vision and Execution: Strong strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to also dive into details when necessary. A history of contributing to long-term commercial strategy development and then driving successful execution of the plan. Able to balance big-picture perspective with hands-on problem-solving, especially in a fast-paced or "start-up" environment within a larger organization.


  • Leadership & Collaboration: Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and scaling teams, including remote and culturally diverse teams across multiple regions. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and influence skills - able to bring together stakeholders from different functions and backgrounds to achieve common goals. Comfortable working in a matrix organization and influencing without direct authority when needed.


  • Communication Skills: Superior communication and presentation abilities. Capable of articulating complex analytical findings and strategic recommendations in a clear, concise manner to executive audiences. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to inspire confidence and build trust with team members, peers, and senior leaders.


  • Results Orientation: Demonstrated track record of driving tangible business results (e.g., successful product launches, market share growth, process improvements leading to efficiency gains). Highly organized, with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Adept at navigating challenges and making decisions in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.


Preferred Experience and Education:

  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree is highly preferred, especially with a focus on healthcare management, data science, or finance.


  • Therapeutic Area Expertise: Direct commercial experience in cell therapy or gene therapy markets.Familiarity with the unique market dynamics of cell therapies, such as patient-specific manufacturing, complex logistics, high-cost reimbursement models, and regulatory pathways for advanced therapies.


  • Global Experience: Experience leading commercial analytics or operations across multiple geographies (North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, etc.). Understanding of how to tailor commercial strategies to different regional markets and healthcare systems while maintaining a unified global vision.


  • Digital and Analytics Innovation: Exposure to modern analytics techniques and tools, including predictive analytics, machine learning, and AI applications in commercial strategy. Experience with digital health technologies or omnichannel marketing analytics is a plus, as is a track record of implementing new technology platforms or data infrastructure projects.


  • Change Management: Skills in change management and organizational development - ability to drive transformation in commercial operations, implement new processes, and lead cultural change towards data-driven decision making. Experience in building a commercial function from the ground up or significantly scaling a team is beneficial.


  • Language Skills: Proficiency in additional languages (beyond English) can be an asset, given the global scope of the role and the need to collaborate across different regions.

Work Environment:

This position is remote and should be performed in an office setting that simulates the work office environment. This office must be set up in a way that allows for privacy and quiet during work hours, as well as a comfortable chair and desk. This position uses phone, computer, office equipment and supplies on a regular basis. Noise levels should be at a level which would allow for proper communication with other members virtually.

Travel required: up to 30% travel required, domestically and internationally.
