Responsibilities

In partnership with the Physician Service Line leadership and Executive Committee, the Practice Executive formulates and oversees the operational, strategic and financial performance of Ascension Saint Thomas Heart (AST Heart) to pair destination level service with the highest quality cardiovascular care available.

  • In partnership with Service Line leadership, the Practice Executive leads all aspects of operational, financial & strategic performance of the physician practice and its network of locations.
  • Direct responsibility for creating the work environment and operating system necessary to enable destination level service for all consumers experiencing AST Heart.
  • Directs and delivers upon the operational, strategic and financial goals for the practice through the creation of policy and program initiatives, including long range financial planning and marketing strategies.
  • Ensure efficient and effective management and leadership of strategic, administrative, operational, and financial initiatives for the physician practice and its network of locations.
  • Develops and implements the service standards and operating systems to enhance the effectiveness of physician services and the practice.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on relevant data and metrics as needed and/or requested; and proactively ensures the development and implementation of actions or process improvements as appropriate.
  • Analyzes systems and procedures to recommend and lead improved management techniques and practice to ensure improved workflow, efficiency and patient and referring physician satisfaction.
  • Serves as liaison between Service Line Executive Committee, Hospital, Medical Group and Health System leadership, financial institutions, and/or regulatory agencies.
  • Manages and/or assists in the recruitment, development and supervision of team members. Creates and sustains an environment that fosters team member engagement. Establishes clear objectives tied to department and/or organizational strategic goals. Coaches, counsels and evaluates performance of direct reports.
  • Serves as member of the Executive Committee, representing the practice to ensure strong integration into the system's strategic and operational plan.
  • Responsible for management of existing physician employment contracts and professional services agreements with Medical Group leadership.

    Responsible for balancing ambulatory access for growth with interventional / procedural access to ensure speed to care.

Requirements

Education:

  • Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 7 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience

    required, with 4 of those years being in leadership/management.

Additional Preferences

  • Masters degree with at least 5 years of progressive (Director or above) leadership experience
