GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general guidance of IT VP Business Applications, the IT Automation Manager is responsible for leading Automation Center Of Excellence (CoE) and overseeing the automation strategy within the organization. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual workloads, and enhance overall productivity. The IT Automation Manager will work closely with various departments, such as IT, Access and Revenue Cycle, HR, Finance, Supply Chain etc., to identify opportunities for automation, develop solutions, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive automation strategy aligned with Henry Ford Health System's IT and Business strategy, goals and objectives.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in IT automation to continuously enhance the automation strategy.
- Work closely with various stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges, providing solutions through automation.
- Lead and manage automation projects from inception to completion and monitoring, ensuring timely delivery and effectiveness of the automation solution.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement automation workflows.
- Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure the reliability and accuracy of automated systems.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and knowledge and guide the team fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. Master's degree is preferred.
- Ten years (10) project management or other relevant experience in Healthcare IT systems, required.
- Strong background in software development, scripting, and automation tools.
- Experience with system integration, process mapping, and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with technologies such as RPA (Robotic Process Automation), AI (Artificial Intelligence), and machine learning.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- PMI certification or ITL Intermediate Certified are highly desirable.
