Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Participate as a key member of the USCAN business leadership team. Partner with business leaders and staff to define finance strategy, drive operating performance & act as a champion on all finance activities.
Lead and direct, coach and develop a team of Finance Managers and Analysts active in/for the business/region.
Ownership for developing estimates, operating plans/forecasts/reviews, Long Term Strategy (3-year plan), Budget (1-year plan).
Driving profitable growth by providing analysis of results and reporting key metrics while advising the leadership team on risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions.
Overall responsibility for all internal finance processes, commercial deal architecture, provide operational rigor on cash management, lead opportunities on price and price change
Manage reporting and statutory requirements - internal to business and externally.
Lead Pension-related finance activities to ensure appropriate funding status and adherence to local requirements and regulations
Support tax audits in your capacity as the most senior finance resource in Canada.
Finance liaison for all Business Development & Acquisition, Integration and Divesting activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with 8+ years of experience including developing forecasts & operating plans and leading business / finance reviews.
Desired Characteristics
Strong analytical skills: expertise in data analytics to be able to extract proper data from systems & create reports that would allow identification of operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas
Leadership experience: has minimum of five years experience leading team members
Excellent communication and influencing skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
Technology skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion, Power BI, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLookup, and Macros)
You must be willing to travel a minimum of 20% of the time
Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others
Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
Experience leading in a matrixed environment
Adaptable/flexible: being open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situation
Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma
