Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Products Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing plant. The Plant Manager will ensure the plant is running efficiently, safely, and in alignment with production goals. This position requires a strong leadership presence, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple teams while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee all plant operations, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
  • Manage plant capacity and ensure optimal utilization of resources, including machinery, equipment, and human capital.
  • Implement and monitor production processes, making adjustments as needed to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Must ensure compliance with all plant operations according to company policy and federal, state, and local regulations.


Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and develop plant staff, including shift supervisors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement within the plant.
  • Address workforce issues, resolve conflict, and promote a positive work environment to boost morale and productivity.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and address any performance issues.


Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Implement and enforce safety programs, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee environmental compliance initiatives and waste management processes in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.


Production Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop and manage the production plan / schedule to meet customer demand while maximizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage the inventory of raw materials, green stock and finished goods to ensure production continuity and prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and inventory management teams to ensure timely availability of materials.


Quality Control and Continuous Improvement:

  • Oversee quality control programs to maintain the highest product quality standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen to improve process efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.


Budget and Financial Management:

  • Manage plant budget, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
  • Analyze operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
  • Capital Investments: Deciding on and managing investments in new machinery or technology to enhance production capacity or efficiency.


Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on plant performance, production metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Maintain up-to-date records and documentation regarding production, safety, and regulatory compliance.


Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or MBA is a plus.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a plant management or leadership role.
  • Experience in the industrial products manufacturing, Ceramics industry is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, production processes, and lean manufacturing techniques.


Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and coach others.
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels, including hourly workforce and top management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with plant management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with Syspro software a plus candidate will be expected to learn our current ERP and planning systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and environmental (EHS) compliance.
