Located on a beautifully landscaped 27-acre medical campus at 19339 Benns Grant Boulevard in Smithfield, the new hospital will provide modern facilities and comprehensive medical services to meet the growing needs of the community.

The 200,000-square-foot, three-story facility will offer a range of essential healthcare services including an Emergency Department, Diagnostic Imaging Services, 34 Medical/Surgical beds, 10 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds and 4 Operating Rooms. Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner, Senior Manager is responsible for providing human resources support to team members, leaders, and executives within a business unit/facility. This role supports employee relations, to include investigations, resolving employee concerns, partnering with leaders to manage team member performance. Coordinates and delivers facility training and support. Assists with advanced recruiting and hiring support (i.e. creating positions). Partners with centers of excellence on tactical human resources functions (i.e. pay equity, recruitment initiatives, benefits communication, performance management process, etc). Partners with HR support services when necessary to resolve employee or leader questions. Partners with Senior HR Director on the implementation of HR strategy within the assigned facilities and departments. Responsible for the oversight and leadership of the hospital volunteer program.


What you will do

  • Partners with facility leaders on HR matters, to include employee relations, business unit onboarding, engagement, etc. Collaborates regularly with facility leaders to maximize the performance of their teams.

  • Provides advice and guidance to leaders on employee relations matters, including absence, performance management, disciplinary procedures, and outcomes. Escalates complex/high risk employee relations matters as needed.

  • Provides advice to leaders on HR laws, regulations, and practices (i.e. FMLA, ADA, etc). Functions as an HR policy expert and assists leaders with HR policy interpretation and enforcement.

  • Supports employee lifecycle activities, such as onboarding and offboarding.

  • Conducts audits of HR and volunteer services activities to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement.

  • Supports HR related component of regulatory surveys.

  • Oversees hospital volunteer program and staff (as applicable).

  • Supports workforce planning and organizational change initiatives.

  • Supports the employee engagement initiatives in assigned facilities.


Qualifications


Education

  • Bachelors Degree, Human Resources or Related Field (Required)


Experience

  • 5-6 years human resources experience in employee relations, investigations, and/or resolving complex employee concerns requiring strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (Required)

  • Leadership experience in human resources (Preferred)

  • Experience overseeing or working with volunteers (Preferred)

  • Experience with HCM Workday (Preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer technology including all MS Office products. Intermediate level or above MS Excel skills.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills across broad and diverse audiences.

  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).

  • Skilled in the consistent application of policies and procedures.

  • Well-developed HR knowledge base with a firm understanding of laws, regulations, and practices impacting HR (i.e. FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Wage and Hour, etc).

  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management.

  • Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Tactical mindset.

  • Skilled in interpreting and implementing business solutions.

  • Ability to advise and coach leaders.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities and follow through to completion.


Licenses and Certifications

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP (Preferred)
