The Pharmacy Director will provide visionary leadership, guidance, and management for all pharmaceutical services within the facility, ensuring optimal medication use, patient safety, and the best possible outcomes for those we care for. This position will oversee a team dedicated to improving health through the thoughtful, evidence-based management of medications. As a leader, youll collaborate with hospital administration, physicians, and other key stakeholders to ensure the effective and compassionate delivery of pharmacy services.

What You Will Do
Lead with Compassion: Direct the development, implementation, and execution of the departments strategic goals, ensuring they align with our mission of caring for others as we care for those we love. Collaborate with hospital leadership, pharmacy peers, and other stakeholders to continuously elevate pharmacy services.
Innovate in Service Excellence: Partner with a cross-functional team to identify and implement innovative solutions to improve pharmacy services, focusing on enhancing safety, quality, and the overall patient experience.
Foster Collaborative Relationships: Cultivate a strong, supportive, and collaborative pharmacy team. Lead the development and growth of your team, ensuring that each individual has the resources and support to thrive. Youll be responsible for the ongoing management of a department that puts people at the heart of everything we do.
Ensure Financial Stewardship: Take charge of the financial planning and budgeting for the pharmacy department. Ensure cost-effective pharmacy service delivery while maintaining the high-quality standards that align with our mission.
Maintain Safety and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality in pharmacy operations. Ensure that all pharmaceutical services meet accreditation, regulatory, and legal requirements while also exceeding patient expectations for care.
Drive Positive Outcomes: Ensure consistent medication management across the facility, enhancing patient care and safety. Play an active role in system-wide standardization efforts and continuously look for ways to improve pharmacy services and patient outcomes.

Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Pharmacy (Required)
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health (Preferred)
- Experience:
- 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience (Required)
- 3 years of pharmacy leadership experience or 3 years of ASHP PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency experience, plus 2 years of leadership experience (Required)
- 1 year of ASHP PGY-1 experience (Preferred)
- Licenses and Certifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) licensed in the State of Virginia within 60 days (Required)
- 340B University On-Demand certification within 180 days (Required)
- Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (Apexus) within 2 years (Preferred)
- Board Certification in Pharmacy Specialties within 1 year (Preferred)
