The roleyoullcontribute:
The Ambulatory Surgery Registered Nurse position necessitates robust assessment and reassessment abilities tailored to crafting a patient-specific nursing care plan for individuals undergoing preoperative preparation for surgical and invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Essential to this role are strong communication skills and expertise in managing IV access. Moreover, critical thinking skills are vital for overseeing patient care during Phase II recovery, leading up to the patient's discharge. This role is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the Same Day Surgery unit and across various areas of perioperative services catering to all patient demographics. Additionally, adherence to the Corporate Compliance plan, alongside all regulations of applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, is mandatory.
The valueyoullbring to the team:
- Collects essential patient data, documents accurately in Cerner, assesses and reassess the patients status prior to planned invasive or noninvasive procedures.
- Reviews all pre-operative labs, and essential patient specific information in a timely manner and communicates findings to appropriate personnel.
- Follows physician orders and performs unit specific nursing skills such as IV starts as ordered.
- Demonstrates clinical competence specific to patient assessment and reassessment.
- Communicates with medical staff, and all indicated ancillary services to assure an appropriate continuum of patient care.
