JOB SUMMARY
Provides general, technical, and analytic assistance in the management and operation of The Trust's Health and Dental Pools.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Assist in underwriting Member premiums by preparing and maintaining spreadsheets with relevant enrollment, claims, and related data.
- Monitor and analyze claim trends.
- Prepare and ensure accuracy and consistency of Member renewal documents and communications.
- Develop charts, tables, and graphs for internal and external use.
- Format data for transmission to Employee Benefits Programs consultants, actuaries, underwriters, and third-party insurance providers.
- Conduct research to provide solutions and information to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze Healthcare Reform developments and legal requirements at the Federal and State levels.
- Ensure Member entities are compliant with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA).
- Respond to questions from Member entity officials and individual subscribers; conduct research and provide accurate and timely information.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree required, preferably in mathematics, actuarial science, finance, or business administration.
- Minimum of five years experience in the healthcare industry, specifically in underwriting, with demonstrated strong analytical skills.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs, specifically health and dental insurance underwriting and benefit administration.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability in a dynamic and evolving work environment.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license for travel to Member locations.
PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work in an office environment and engage in professional communication (in person and via phone).
- Perform desk-based tasks such as sitting, typing, writing, filing, and using office equipment.
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Use fluent and grammatically correct English as the primary business language.
- Availability for 1025% travel within Rhode Island during work hours.
