JOB ASSIGNMENT SUMMARY
The Operations Manager supports the General Manager's revenue & profitability initiatives through best-in-class customer service by leading the operations staff with logistics improvements, operational efficiencies, safety compliance, and cost control. The Operations Manager should maximize customer service and operating efficiency through consistent best practices, daily metrics to benchmark results, effectively manage resources and expenses and should recognize areas for continuous improvement to best serve our customers. The Operations Manager directs management responsibility for physical facilities, equipment, inventory, and other miscellaneous assets.

KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages a distribution center by providing excellent customer service support while controlling logistics, workforce management, indirect and operating costs.
Efficiency - Manages material handling and delivery operations using productivity metrics.
Expense - Manages labor expense. Performs cycle counts and physical inventory according to accounting guidelines.
Customer Service - Fills orders accurately, safely, on time and without damage.
Safety & Compliance - Ensures a safe workplace for associates and visitors. Ensures compliance in all federal, state, and locals laws pertaining to employment, safety, and DOT regulations.
POSITION SCOPE / IMPACT
Span of Control: Manages a group of employees directly and/or has significant indirect responsibilities in getting work done through others.
Decision Making / Autonomy: Decision-making is subject to broad practices and procedures covered by some functional precedents, policies, and professional standards.
Financial Authority: Contributes to development of an operating plan and budget. May manage parts of budget
Problem Complexity: Problems are complex and solutions require detail analysis and extensive investigation.
Influencing / People Leadership: Ability to build consensus and be appropriately diplomatic, understand others' roles and perspectives, can sell projects and ideas externally and across the organization. Influences others by presenting a strong case. Builds cross-functional relationships to build consensus and create results.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Educational Requirements: BS / BA Degree in related field preferred.
Years of Experience: 6-8 years of experience preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Supervisory experience in a distribution/manufacturing operation. Ability to teach and enforce process discipline. Process improvement and operating efficiency competency. Branch operations and systems knowledge. Proficiency using DMSI Agility, Microsoft Office Suite Software, and relevant tools / technology.
